Well i saw one today on the Florida Turnpike, in Broward county. It was driving in the opposite direction, silver with the black stripes. I got so excited when i saw it i called it a charger :bang:. But just it driving down the street put a smile on my face from ear to ear, the car looked amazing for those few seconds.

I really dig this car, I can't wait until a nicely broken in example hits a Northeast drag strip in late November/December...I predict a best of around 12.6 at over 110mph in bone stock trim.
If they can pull some weight out of it the car might see 12.4s. :drive:

Saw on today at a local dealership. Front end is awesome but the rest of the car seeing it in person is ....not good to me.

13.3 @108mph in car and driver.
I'd say the car has a high 12 in it at best. The fucking car is over 4000 pounds!
Awesome car, but wow... what a pig.
Regardless if I had extra dough I'd take one in lime green with flat black stripes and black wheels...

I believe road and track got 13 flat out of it with a 4.7 sec 0-60

Interior is plain.. They should have made this car hit 12's stock. I easily see the camaro smoking this car no problem.

IMO there not going to be any faster than a stock charger or 300.

They should have made this car hit 12's stock. In cooler air and in private hands, they will hit 12s stock. :drive:
IMO there not going to be any faster than a stock charger or 300.You may be right, at least with the automatic version. But the Charger and 300 (and Magnum and Grand Cherokee) SRT-8 models ALL have high 12 second capability in stock form.
And we still have no idea what the manual trans version might be capable of. :)

A dealer local to me has one sitting out front with all kinds of people checking it out. I almost stopped to see what the mark up was on it. Sweet looking though, even the wifey likes it!

There were two Challengers here in SoCal in April:
http://s104.photobucket.com/albums/m167/jonvb1/DD%20CC%20Apr%2012%202008/
I think the body looks cool but I was disappointed in the interior, they should have kept the dash and console like the concept which was closer to original instead of swapping in the one from the Charger. And coming in at 4100+ lbs. what were they thinking? Are there a couple of olympic weight sets hiding in there somewhere??? Good thing it has a strong engine.

Well here's one in action from last month during the Tire Rack One Lap Of America.

If you look real close you will see the front end ripped off. He had brake issue during the first day at Road America and couldnt stop at the end of the front straight.

Stopped today to look at it. Only 42g's :eyes: While its a sweet ride I think its a bit too pricey.

I don't think that's pricey. Its a Brand spanking new Top of the Line Challenger. I wonder how many factory freaks they'll be!

I think the car should sell for 35k tops... GTO sold for 32k. and was quicker, better interior too.

I think they are the best looking out of the new retro cars but that seems a bit pricey, and i hope they make more performance oriented one within a year.

I would have to agree this is probably the closest retro car out there. I had a '72 cuda (similar body lines to challenger) and was please to see how well they copied the lines.
I've seen these around for quite sometime (worked at Featherstone for a bit the last few years) and these are awesome with some tweaks. Offering a manual was the best decision they coulda made. I think they will be offering an R/T version which will be a bit cheaper than srts' with the manual as an option. Once the mark up dies down I may just have to pick one up. Silver looks killer on this car.

And if that mattered GM would have sold them out instead of being forced to give them away for song (which is how I got mine).
The price of the Charger HEMI R/T was announced today. It's only $29,995 and the Track Pak only adds $995 more. That's a fucking deal.

The cars seen EARLIER than MAY/23/08 were not Publicly Sold Cars.....they were early "MULES".

The mark up for the SRT8 is supposed to be 20K. Naturally. I have a buddy stationed in germany, and Dodge held a raffle for one at his base for MSRP which he won. His car will be delevired here to the US in August. Trying to get him to sell it to me lol

Yeah, if you don't like modifying your car! Chrysler vehicles are INFAMOUS for being absurdly mod-resistant...they aren't particularly difficult to bolt stuff onto, but the computer will automatically adjust to stock parameters/horsepower/torque. To get any real performance out of modern-day Mopars, you have to ditch the stock computer and get one rigged up custom-like, or go browse the outlandishly over-priced aftermarket for the car...I always thought Ford had an expensive aftermarket, but Mopar takes the cake!
I love the lines of it though...shame about the brain...

Here's a better view of that car before it got whacked around a bit, a nice little homage to the movie 'Vanishing Point' as well.
Damn that car does look HOT in white too.
