im helping my dad put together a motor for his 66 p/u so far we have just a 383 shortblock put together. hes wanting to keep costs fairly low, so i suggested a pair of vortec heads to him. anyone know the best place to buy these nowadays. it seems that a couple years ago you could get a pair with screw in studs and z28 springs and machined for the extra lift for right around $550 to $600. Anybody have any ideas or any other head suggestions.

Well, i believe Summit Racing still carries a set for 650$ with the workd already done. But at that price you can get a set of better aftermarket heads.
