So... forgive me if I missed it, but where'd the supercharger come from? I've been waiting to read up on Eaton kits (or any roots or screw-type blower setups) for vehicles with L76 heads..

Yeah that's awesome can't wait to see the dyno numbers to see if it hit 500 RWHP with those three additional parts. Makes me think about getting a G8 for a family car with some kick!

Hey guys, the numbers for the g8 are up,pretty good results. The supercharger kit was from Harrop in austrailia. The headers and exhaust were built in house by me.

453 / 443 with a car thats just broke in, and IAT's thru the roof. Oh yeah headers and 3inch exhaust. I'd say she did pretty good. Over 400 rwtq at 3600 rpms. NICE !!

What would you say the reason for the high IAT's were ?? I am sure that she will do better on the street with plenty of air flowing across the intercooler.

Good job Shawn !!! Last question, how much boost to make those numbers ??

Shawn @ VA Speed

Thanks, the iat's were high due to a couple of resons,1 it was extrememly hot and humid during tuning-iat's were the same on the street at 3am that morning.2,the intercooler isnt quite effiecient enought for that s/c,a meth kit would have greatly helped, but the cust didnt want something he had to fill. Those #'s were at 9psi boost.

9psi, not too shabby. Any other options for intercoolers ?? How much power do you think a meth kit would yield ??

the intercooler core was built into the manifold,a bigger heat exchanger in frt of the rad might help, the meth kit would help alot considering it was pulling a ton of timing, total timnig was down as low as 9 degrees.easily 20hp,probably more

Thats a very nice G8. How many miles were on it when it was put on the dyno? It should put down some better #s after a few months of being broken in.

looks a lot like the maggie's and im sure you know just as well as others that the iat's are always rediculously high with those.

Im asumming there was custom tuning involved?

All in all the craftsmanship looks amazing!

Shawn,

Had a dashawk thrown on the car during the drive down south. It showed the car IAT dropping as low as 124 - 126 degrees. It ran solid the whole way to Texas and back. Electric fans kick in at 217 degrees. Oil pressure stayed around 41 - 53 psi.

Brian got the tune reloaded the other night in about 3 minutes. Car is excellent. Here is my email address will you pass it to Brian so I can get the tune from him.

Amazing job on the car. Can't say enough about all the effort you all put into it. Thanks for everything!

No one has said anything - and maybe I am missing something - but how is the supercharger driven on the back side of the engine? I just noticed that in the pics and wondered? And the install along with the exhaust looks absolutely top notch! I had to laugh when I saw the yellow inspection sticker in the middle of the windshield as I flew up to Winchester, Virginia to pick up my brand-new 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP in May of 2006 and I had a yellow inspection sticker right there as well. Seemed odd and looked really out of place here in Texas - Ha! That G8 wasn't bought at Kern Motor Company was it? Also, it looks like once all adjustments have been made, etc. - the engine cover should be able to be made to fit which would really make it stealthy! Congrats on a sweet install and plan on making a similar package available for the 2009 G8 GXP as that is what I am aiming for!

see the pointy thing on the front of the SC(the part that faces the front on the car) it has a grooved pulley on it...that is the jack shaft that turns the pulley on the back of the blower....that way the install is very clean, the shaft runs under the SC instead of beside it like most of us are used to...and you can have the SC actually face the right way and run almost undetected from the regular serpentine system

I would like to see that engine cover hide the supercharger now. Does it fit back over it?

Not even 300 baseline? That disappointing. I thought they'd have a bit more.

Agreed, with a 361hp flywheel rating and GM's track record of chassis dyno numbers vs flywheel...

Shawn, since you have personal experience with these cars, do you know the reason for the low numbers?

.75 * 361 = 270rhwp, did you guys (hopefully) make better numbers than that?
