Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - Which cam to go with?

I found two cam's and cant decide which one to go with the engine will be 350 roller with vortec heads ported and dual springs for higher lift and edelbrock air gap performer rpm and stall converter and 3.73 its for 92 Z28 here are the cam's that I have in mind

I think I will go with the Xtreme energy cam

What size converter do you have?

I'd say w/ a 3500 stall the 1st one!!

I will decide the size of the converter when I choose the cam

Static compression ratio is very important to know when choosing a cam. Whats your SCR and are you going by manufacturer specs or did you measure and calculate?

I will put .030 flat top pistons I guess with 64cc it will be something aroubd 10-10.5cr

With a zero deck height and a head gasket comp thickness of .039-.041 use the #2 cam from above you will need a good converter and gear to make this work.

It'll be more like 9.7:1
It won't be in the 10 range at all.

Well due to the RPM range w/ a 3500 stall you'll be into the lower part of the power band... Just the way I do things...

The bottom cam will actually make more low and mid range power and have a higher DCR than the first cam.

Make sure and get some good springs for either cam but especially the XE cam (145 lbs seat pressure 350 lbs open pressure).
