Ok guys, here's the deal.

My door speakers, like a lot of others, suck. They rattle if the bass is turned up very much.. It sucks.

I figure just blown speakers... But, the sail panel speakers don't have much bass at all either. They don't rattle, they just have barely any bass. My friends 99 with the monsoon has WAY more bass than mine... Maybe my door and sail panel speakers are blown?

If i turn my bass all the way down the speakers sound fine, no rattle or anything, but too much bass and my fronts rattle, even though the sail panel speakers don't have that much bass anyway.
So i was thinking, maybe add a sub to the stock system, and just turn the bass down on the head unit? Maybe that would be a nice in-between?

Any suggestions... or wtf is up with my monsoon system? lol. Thanks for the help guys..

The door speakers may not be blown quite yet but they will be. What your dealing with sounds like a typical issue with the stock speakers. The outer foam surround has deteriorated to nothing allowing the cone to move around at higher volume. Should look something like this (Camaro one is on the right):

I have good replacements that will work for your car. Check out the website or PM me and I can get you more info!

is there any reason for my sail panel speakers to be so quiet and have hardly any bass?

They are probably blown. This would not be unusual.
The stock GM Delco speakers used the cheapest materials they could find in Mexico (which is where they were assembled) and that's what they built the speakers out of. Cheap paper cone with an even cheaper foam surrounds. I've seen cars that are immaculate with very low miles and the speakers are rotted out.

I spoke with the dealership and they informed me that the stock factory monsoon speakers are being overpowered by the monsoon amp. GM has now updated the speakers with new cone materials so as to handle the power. Old paper cones never cut it. I just bought a 2001 z28 m6 ls1, monsoon system with 33000 miles and my cousin turned up radio and blew my right odor speaker so i just went threw this whole process. IT sounds like a bad rattle when the cone is ripped
