Default For those who want Headers and new intake...

I have been reading a lot of posts about headers and an intake for the LS4. I would love both of these as well but let's face it, it probably will not happen.

I just want to throw out there that there is a company that does an excellent job porting our exhaust manifolds and intakes. I am in no way trying to promote the company but if we want some HP gains and reduce knock a little bit then this seems like the obvious choice. The comapny name is FasterProms and they are located out of Tampa, FL. I contacted them and for an exhaust manifold port it is around $200.00 and for the intake it is $300.00. They also port Throttle Bodies too for I think $100.00.

With the intake and manifolds alone for a combined price of $500.00 you'll get the same if not more HP than a set of headers with a LOT less money to shell out. I just want to throw this out there since we have no other options at this point. The intake alone reduces 1/4 mile times by .2 tenths. Not too bad if you ask me and the manifolds will not only flow better but also reduce knock. Not a bad idea guys...

X 2 what Paul said. The Mani's will NOT throw any codes either. You have to worry more about a HF cat setting the P-0420 code which can be deleted by a tune.

I assume that when you port the the exhaust and intake manifolds that there is a noticeable change in sound too, yes?

I would think so since it changed the sound of my old GT when I had that done. I haven't had this done to my GXP yet so I can't be too sure. I can only go by a previous vehicle it was done to.

MCSS07,

I am sure they can put a coating on but I have never asked. They are a sponsor on here so you could always contact them. I think his name is Jeremy if I am not mistaken.

Or send them to jet hot or try and find a local coating place.

After talking to a few places I might just send my car to get custom headers done. Price tag is 1200.00 but if this draws in enough people after I get them done, I would receive 400.00 back.

I might think this over and go with it.

That would be sweet, how long does it take to make them?

No offense, but I'm pretty sure the veterans here in the LS4 section are not gonna hold their breath while this "happens." Too many people have claimed to have this avenue, but no one ever goes through with it.

I am not sure if I will get these done, but this is the quote I have from the company who is offering them up.

Again, I do not know if I will because that money can be used towards a car that already has a HUGE aftermarket parts list. HINT: Camaro SS

After rockers I can only do the porting. I have done everything else possible mod wise but that. I am not sure when I will get the porting done though as I can't be without the car for too long. I know he was supposed to get some cores but I am not sure he has. He has been really busy lately.
