Cool Nuts in my air box

So I went to install my new K&N intake pipe and filter on my GXP, when I opened up the air box I was greeted with this sight.

Apparently, the previous owner had this car sitting outside for a while and some squirrels decided to store their pecans in my air box. It filled the entire air box assembly. The box full of nuts in the picture is bigger than a shoe box and over 7 inches tall.

I was almost scared to put my hand in there, wasn't sure what else may have been in there.

My buddy goes, "come on now, you can't take out your speed nuts." So now he's convinced me to sell the speed nuts on eBay. Any takers?

Squirrels and mice are destructive PIAs. I have had them eat up a set of $90 ignition wires and chew transmissiom wires. My Monte engine compartment was full of pumpkin seeds and original air cleaner box had a big nest in it. I just got a nice 96 GMC Jimmy that came from Pennsylvania, the air filter box was full of sunflower seed hulls. I may get a mean cat to live under my cars.

That is pretty funny!
Reminds me of my last house with way to many trees, acrons and squirrels... used to find the nuts everywhere. Even had some flying tree squirrels make it into the house (3 times)...

This would be a good way to check your oil change place. Take the car in and let them change the filter just to see if they tell you about it or just swap out the filter. Then stop right outside the door and "double check" the filter install.
