Does anyone know if the speedometer in a 90 Firebird will work correctly using the speed signal from a 95 LT! PCM & T56 trans?

Did they have digital or mechanical speedo's in '90?I thought third gens use mechanical vss? At least the one in my buddy's '88 is mechanical.

It is an analog face, but electonic mechanisim.
