Default Stock LT1 Open Cut-out

There seem to be regular questions about cut-outs on here, so I thought I'd post a short vid; my bone-stock LT1 with 135K in bad need of plugs/tune with the cut-out open.

It's a good, fun mod; glad I did it, I get lots of questions/compliments on it.

Definitely need to tune that thing up man. It would sound a lot better without all the ticking that goes with the reving.

im not an expert but just wanted to let you know that if you are still on stock manifolds and y-pipe and have the cut outs before the cat/cats... im pretty sure that the stock parts arent made to run open like that... they dont create enough back pressure... again im not an expert just dont want to see you mess up your car for a frivolous reason... can anyone else chime in on this...

I agree. It's just loud, not necessarily a good sound. I only open mine at the track.

Unless you drive a prius hybrid with 20 cats and 10 horsepower, fuck back pressure.

hot damn!!! I hope my problem doesnt go that far or else I will be in a shithole since this is my only car...i was told by different people that is was an exhaust leak, intake leak, o2's, bad cats etc. I just dont even know where to start. 1 of these days I will take it to a mechanic and let them scan it and see whats up

azmarkus - car sounds good with cutout.

t/afrom504 - it could also be the quality of the sound and angle of the microphone on the camera that makes it sound different.
