Default Need a coil...which one?

Putting my 96 motor in a 95 car so I'm going to be needing a 95 coil. From what I understand I can use the same ICM but I need a different coil.

I was thinking of buying an aftermarket coil but it seems like every coil has a substantial failure rate.

Is the best option to buy a GM coil? A new GM coil will run me quite a bit more than an aftermarket coil and will take longer for me to receive it.

I can also buy a used one, but likely with high mileage. Do GM coils usually fail at high mileage?

What have your experiences been?

MSD Blaster seems to be popular.

Has anyone had a failure with a MSD Blaster? I have no problem paying the extra scratch and waiting longer for a new AC Delco piece if its failure rate is that much lower. My car is only a bolt on daily driver.

I've heard the higher-output coils like the MSD can will wear out the cap and rotor on the optispark faster than a stock coil. Is this true?

blaster here... don't get the crappy autozone coil, it will missfire above 5800. That was when i had boltons as well, not a built motor.

Well sorry guys too late I already ordered the MSD blaster so if it goes bad on me you're all to blame.
