Default It's that time again! Build #2.

Over the past 2 years I've enjoyed the **** out of my car. But as we all know, LT1s LOVE to leak oil. So, it's time to rip it apart and go to the next step. During ripping it apart I found a few issues, my Billet MSD Opti had kinda fallen apart, so I'm sending it back to be fixed under warranty. Well due to that, it sent the motor pretty freakin lean...which you can see in the pictures below. I wasn't going to do the valve job but now I'm going to just because I can't torque down a head that looks like that.....

Wanting to see low 4xx's honestly.

Plans thus far:

!heat
!ducting
bigger cam
fully ported stock castings
5 angle valve job
re-ring motor
maybe finally some spray
clutch/flywheel

Looking good so far man. I got a similar build goin on with my 93' Camaro.
I see you got a freeze plug where your waterpump gear was. I've been wondering weather or not to do this since I just decided to go EWP. Thanks for clearing it up in the pic!

Definitely oily. haha. Time for a LOT of cleaning **** and some good old elbow grease.

Yea it used to have Billet Specialties on it before the CCWs.

I'd like to see 400+ rwhp, tq I have no idea. Over 360 for sure.

Engine builder says he can't touch it for about 3-4 weeks, so I guess...a week after that!? haha. Heads should be done in the next 2. Hoping to have it for the middle of april.

you right...for a while too. Just got word from the engine builder that the windage tray broke causing metal to chew up the cheap bearings the previous owner installed. It's going to be twice the cost I originally planned for. I'll have a damn new motor though...but this blows. I've already had a horrible freakin week...

pretty sure we've decided to go with a Lunati Voodoo cam. It's:

OLD: CC503
Duration: 224/230
Lift:535/544
LSA: 112

NEW:
Duration: 231/239
Lift: .535/.550 (570/585)
LSA: 110

That's on a 1.5 RR. I've got 1.6s, I think we calculated 570/585 to be the lift numbers. It's gonna be a THUMPIN SUCKA. haha.

Did the metal in the oil trash the crank also if so you may as well build a 383 stroker?

Honestly I saw no metal in the bottom end, not to say there wasn't any but none that I saw in the time I was taking it apart. The crank is going to get polished and cleaned, but I'm staying 355, I honestly don't have the money to get all the machining done to clearance and buy the rotating assembly to go 383.

The timing set I believe is a SBC double roller, I'll double check if you'd like.
