Default %% Official AC Delco 1104032 and 10457702 Optispark Announcement %%

We're in extended talks with AC Delco and its partners right now as far as providing 1104032 and 10457702. It looks like we might be able to come to agreeable terms so far. What we'll be working on is moving from a standard jobber account to a referenced warehouse account in the next month or so.

If the LT1 community makes us the "go to" vendor for this part, we are certain given a little bit of time we can get prices back down to the partladi pricing point everyone became used to.

So far the main issue is that AC Delco will not sell to non-established master warehouse distributors. These are companies that are 100 times the size of us. Companies that stock as much or more than Summit Racing does on any given day. So the chances of us being able to go directly through Delco is approximately 0 percent unless anyone on here is related to any foreign oil prince or princesses.

Right now we have to establish ourselves as a high volume dealer on these two parts through our Delco connection to get our wholesale cost down on the units. As it stands original offer prices we'll be on a razor thin margin. But I have confidence that we can drive enough traffic to these units for our distributor to take notice and give us preferential pricing.

We're placing an initial CASH $20,000 order to let them know we're serious. If we can turn these units quick enough, all should be good. SO.

We are asking the LT1 community to consider us not only for your aftermarket needs, but as the OEM supplier of Optisparks. It sounds like this deal may be about a month off since the number of units we're purchasing is roughly equivalent to the stock of the entire warehouse chain's current stock level. It seems like everyone is holding a handful, but no one is holding a pile of these like we know we'll need.

I'm holding off on giving pricing because we need to go from the bottom to the top for price offerings on units. What we're going to check from other vendors.
  • Do their units come in AC Delco boxes?
  • Are the cap colors the correct OEM coloring?
  • Do the units supplied have the Mitsubishi sensor?
  • Are they Delphi units disguised as Delco units?
  • What is the company' track record?

If they are coming without boxes, without a doubt they are not genuine units. The first thing we'll check if they are without boxes is to tear it apart and check the sensor and compare them against the Delphi unit and ours.

Everyone selling counterfeit units we will first and foremost
  • Notify AC Delco & GM of
  • Secondly notify the community

Once we've found the rock bottom price on the REAL Delco units, we'll price them accordingly. Once we keep the train going, hopefully we can get levels back down to partsladi pricing. We are encouraging people not to "hold off" since that time may never come if people hold out. If we end up sitting on all these units we'll just have to send them to another wholesaler and then continue to sell our units.

This is a community wide effort.

Any questions or concerns, voice them here as we move forward on this deal to bring you guys OEM units at the right prices again. As far as we know most dealers are still charging $400-$500

We've all been absolutely blown away at the kind words and support and we're doing everything we can to bring you guys the best parts at the best prices.

Very cool, awesome of you to be stepping up for the LTx community.

My plans may be changing since funds are rough right now, so I may have to fire up my build with the stock computer and an opti instead of the LS1 24x conversion for now.

If I do, then I will surely be contacting you guys for a new unit.

Boy the ones who **** up his "opti preservation thread" should feel ashamed. I thought that was a pretty rude way to introduce a new sponsor to the site when he was just trying to help. Now, everyone is going to want to be his his friend. Figures.

Nick, got the package BTW, I donated it to a fellow board member here who is going to put it to good use on a new engine build. I'm sure you just earned another customer for life

What does Delphi disquised as AC/Delco mean? Aren't AC/Delco & Delphi synonymous?

That very may well be, but the fact is some people are diehard OEM cheerleaders for whatever reason. I think he is trying to appeal to all audiences in his selection of parts as well as drive the prices down for OEM units for the consumers.

hmmm aftermarket opti w/ great feedback and a lifetime warranty... or an OEM opti for ~100 more and -a 1yr(?) warranty? call me crazy but I'd go for the opti w/ the lifetime warranty

I can't believe how cheap he sells opti's for, lol. It used to be a $400 dollar deal. Now you can drop $400 and do an opti, and a cam swap. Those are some killer prices.

I put in an order for a lifetime warranty Chandler Opti last night. I think the one I got from Advanced Auto 2 months ago took a dump on me.
