Default Elliot Portworks LE1, LE2, LE3 heads

Just wondering if anyone has picked up a set of Elliot Portworks LE1, LE2, LE3 heads? How much of a power gain do you really see with them? I know what they advertise but im interested in what people are acctually gaining with them. I am looking into picking up a pair for my LT1 build up and they seem to have the best deals.

just go to eportworks.com and it will tell you the average gain, but i have not heard anything bad about him and actually I was thinking about going with one of his head combinations whenever i get my 396. Like his LE3.

I should probably look into freshening up the short block that has 136k too. I would like to have my car run easy the 12s what heads/cam would you recomend for a stock short block?

at that low of a milage, I don't think the short block would need anything. If you wanna feel good about it, just replace cam bearings, rod bearings and main bearings. But a stock short block will support mid 12's(and faster) in a caprice, at that milage.

Ran as fast as 11.8s on my LE heads on a Stock Short block. They did not have levels when I got mine

Now I am running a set of LE-X heads and so far I am happy with them

My LE2's will be here in a a week and a half.

Do a search "le1" "le2" "dyno" and you will get lots of info. From what I hear you cant go wrong. Check cz28.com too

Go on Camaroz28.com and do a search there. Theres a ton of people there that have his setup.

I have his LE2 setup, and put down 400rwhp. Will have track times October 7th.

Just doing a basic search for 'LE2' will yield you a ton of info even on this site. Do a search.

Sounds pretty good, I will probably pick up set. I know you don't need heads and a cam to be in the low 12's but I am looking at a more "natural" approach right now (all motor), once thats done suspension and NOS would really show their benifits with a great motor behind them.

TwoFast4Lv I saw a video you posted of your car, NICE WORK! That car screems!

I have a set of LE3 heads and cam and they look like works of art. I'm still working on the motor. All forged 355 with 250shot of the good stuff.

Speed demon, B4CZR2 is looking to build the car for street and occasional strip (although I think his main goal is to catch me in the quarter ), I have been trying to guide him along the process but I have been out of the LT1 game for some time now and only recently heard of the LE heads. I am sorta interested myself to hear what kinds of setups you guys who are running mid 12's have. Oh and for anyone looking for the mods his car already has look to my sig (everything minus the flowmaster is present, has a stock 96 catback now)

Yeah Like BlueB4C said I am looking for a wicked street car that will kick almost everything to the curb. I am using the stock exhaust but will soon have long tube headers and an electric cut out. I want a set of heads and would like to run it in the low 12s. I have narrowed much decision to either the LE2 or for 300 more get the LE3 heads. What would be the better bang for the buck? I am looking to get a really good torque converter around 3200rpm stall, Accel opti, perhaps a new fuel pump and injectors, and will probabaly have to then get a new 58mm throttle body as well.

Thanks man. It was ALOT of hard work...on other peoples cars to pay for it Not to mention the research and time we put into it. We managed to lick a few of the basic problems with new thinking and hand made parts and ports Just got done with the new CAI. Cost about $100 to my door and 15 minutes of work but it seems to work better then my SLP CAI

I think I will sell the directions for $5 a pop on e-bay LOL!

BTW Lloyd, Brett, Jim and I spent alot of time going over how my heads would be ported and what the cam spec's would be to feed 380CI. I see the results popping up here and there now on other cars

Look at the LE2 heads with Lloyds LE1.5 cam. That's about as much cam as you can use with that stall and gear ratio and still be fast. Also the spring package and parts on those heads are the best for a stock cube motor. A larger valve like the LE3 heads will go faster but it works much better on a 383 or larger motor. That's why we have the setups in those incriments. 1.94" intakes for a LE1, 2.00" intakes for a LE2, 2.055" intakes for a LE3. .060" increase in valve size in each package.

I'm guessing you are running at NYIRP. I haven't been up there in a while, or drag racing for a while. Stuck in the shop working on other peoples stuff just like Ellis! Thankfully my brother in law just got a Fox body to start playing with, I gotta get him to sell off the 347 Ford POS and then run a cammed/carbed LS1 to get it in the 10's, that will get us back up to the track.

I gotta get back up there sometime, change my plugs, tq arm and tranny mounts and throw the DR's on there and see if I can do better than my 12.86 @ 110 in the ole stock SS.

Lol, well the R&D motor in the shop should hopefully go in this pig this springtime, but with the road race springs and shocks from Strano I think it's not going to be the best at the dragstrip!

Yes the LE1 setup is a good DD setup. If you have some decent gears in there it will wake the thing up a ton.
