yes, i will be building my 5th exhaust system this weekend, i am tired of paying people to do it wrong, so maybe this one will be right . The exhaust right now is jet-hot longtubes, muffler shop made 2.5" Y (which is the suckiest thing in the world considering that the Y is actually just a hole cut in the pass side pipe and drivers side welded flat on it), 3" no name cat, 3" mandrel over the axle, into a 2.5" inlet 2.5" dual outlet gaymaster muffler.
(takes breath)
The setup i will be putting together this weekend, J/H longtubes, dual 3" flex pipe, dual 3" bullets (for cats ,) 3" off road Y (hooker), 3" madrel bent over axle w/ 3" cutout right before axle, to the gaybuster, w/ hooker 2.5" inlet dual 3" exit tips.
(takes anouther breath)
Maybe this time i will actually like my exhaust and stick with it.
Exept the flowbuster has got to go, prolly going to go with a spintech for its all said and done.
Anyway, i will be posting before and after pics, video before and after, cutout open and cutout closed.
O i almost forgot, going back in with percy gaskets, that is the reason for the flex pipes, putting to much stress on the header bolts and gaskets, leaks constantly...

i just redid mine for the 3rd time this year already...Im finally happy with how it sounds but hate how the tips are, so ill adjust them later this month, its so #%$#ING hard for some people to get it how you want it, finally the last time i had mine done i hung out at the shop the whole time and told them what was right and what wasnt, im sure it got on there nerves but if i were them id want my customer to be satisfied too. They were pretty cool about it but i know i hate people over my shoulders when im working.
I love it. sounds different then anything else ive ever heard. I like it alot, i messed up at first and just bought the muffler, then i wanted to make it a catback but couldnt find a I pipe, finally i went to my local muffler shop and they said they could get me just the I pipe from IMCO we ordered the I pipe for their 3" catback system for a 3rd gen, cut off the front of the pipe and it fit perfect. Im very satisfied with mine.
i am going to run into a huge problem though, because mine is a convertable, there is extra reinforcement throughout the undercarrage, prolly going to be doing a lot of cutting and hammering...

I'm going to a wedding at the Track In Houston, then to a massive carshow this weekend... If that falls through I'll bring the sawzall and beer, we'll make that shit fit.

what are the best headers and Y-pipe for the money? And I've heard you don't want to gut the converter, what is a good hi-flow cat to get?
pacesetter longtubes are the best bang for your buck. since your in nc you have emissions so you could just stick some slip on cats on the collectors then do your y-pipe and the rest of your exhaust. that will keep you legal. dont know what brand of cats are the slip ons though
but unless you have emissions to worry about most people get rid of the cats. don't know where you heard it was bad

i had gotten the universal cat and it needed very lil convincing to fit. all i did was cut the stock cat out and weld the ends/ ataching mounts the the magnaflo cat and it bolted rite in very easy. but I am pretty sure they offer one custom made for our cars
not if its 94 and earlier. i have no cats at all just true duals with mufflers and longtubes and i dont even have to take the sniffer test at all. basically just beep the horn and go. even though i have illegal tint and i wont pass anyway
