Default Anyone else having problems with Six Speed Inc??

I really hate to do this but I'm just about out of options. I purchased a stage 4+ transmission for Six speed Inc and everything has worked out well until it came time to get my $500.00 dollar core charge back from them. I have attempted for the last 2 months to collect this debt with no sucess. Amber has written me 2 checks from 2 different accounts both of which had bounced. After calling her and discussing this with her she assured me that the money had cleared their account and that I should have had the money. I checked again with my bank and this was not the case. So I call her back and found out they were out of town at a race in Memphis and she told me that the check was good now at that it was ok to redeposit. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AGAIN. I just got another notice from my bank saying that it had bounced for the 3rd time. Like I said at the beginning of my post I'm out of options. I'm not trying to flame a vendor on these boards I simply want my money back. I hope this serves a warning to anyone that wants to do CURRENT business with Six Speed Inc. being that I know that they have done people good in the past. This is not one of those cases. I hope this can be resolved soon.

I have also been trying to get a hold of them. They are not answering emails, site is down and no one ever calls you back after leaving a message.

Lots of folks are having issues with them right now, our workload has increased a ton over the past month or two. For those of you needing a T56 rebuilt, check out http://www.tickshift.com or give us a buzz and we'll be happy to "pinch hit" for them until their situation becomes more clear.

Or you could use LMR in Houston, TX who is currently running a t56 special. Scott is the t56 guru

Well I hope they don't have any of your money because you may be in for a fight. What really pissed me off about the entire situation was that they were out of town racing!!! Which tells me that they have money but they just don't want to pay me.

I been waiting for parts for months now. Ive given the benefit of the doubt but I have successfully contacted them from here several times in which it was said "my parts would be shipped right out as soon as so&so part shows up." then nothing happens. Im missing quite a few things from my stg 2 kit.

You simply cannot run a transmission business like that when you only know how to build one unit . No major transmission suppliers (D&D , Liberty , Astro , Pro Motion and even ourself) can only do one type of unit . Even doing several different types , business in general has slowed way down .

Somebody should correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Six Speeds Inc. as an entity is out of business, and that LMR (mentioned above) has hired or subcontracted the former builders for Six Speeds Inc.

I do not know if the former business entity Six Speeds Inc will do anything for those customers they have hanging in the breeze. The ethical thing for them to do would be to take care of all of their outstanding debts, but it doesn't always work out that way in the business world.

Again, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but this is just how I've seen things.

That sucks if thats the case, but like said I havent see much posted by Amber here on the site.

They have seem to go the way of the Nu-tek's of the world. Get too big and cant hold it together.

The former builder of Six Speeds is now working at LMR correct. Six Speeds and LMR are in no way affiliated though.
