When you did the mock up in your car with the magnum, did it look like you were gonna have any clearance problems with the shifter base/stick clearing the shifter hole in the trans tunnel? since the shifter is place 2.5 inches forward, i was wondering if the stock opening in the trans tunnel would be enough to clear everything.. although it's a pretty big hole from the factory

Has anyone looked at the McLeod Slik Stix Shifter. A couple years ago I called them about it and they got me a pn for 93-02 F-body applications. I don't have the pn anymore.

Exclamation TREMEC Magnum Offset Shifter

wforty, bigsticksupra, and big_bird_ws6:

TREMEC has the shifter you need. It's a 2-inch offset. They just released it a couple of weeks ago. Their distributors don't even have it yet. A good friend of mine works for TREMEC. I'll PM you his email. Trust me, he'll get you pointed in the right direction.

I am considering picking one of these up. I found one local, and it just so happens I toasted the clutches in my TH the other night.

Since my swap is custom, I plan on making a new crossmember and driveshaft. But other then that it seems I could use some T56 parts?

To mount to a 98-02 F-body LS, from reading, sounds like I could

T56 Flywheel?
T56 Slave?
TR6060 Shifter?
T56 Bellhouing (what is the reason the 6060 cant be used?)
T56 clutch kit?

UPDATE,

it doesnt fit. the shifter. you have to cut about 2 inchs of your tunnel to get it to work. so i sent my to RPM , through vengance and got the stock f-body rear assembly added. it fits now.

Default Magnum TZ

Just bought a Magnum Tranzilla from Rockland Standard Gear. It has the f-body rear transmission housing so that the shifter and crossmember work. Only think on mine is that the end of the tailshaft sticks out about 1.3" past the seal lip.

The 31 spline yoke that I bought bottoms out on the shaft before i can get the drive shaft all in. So obviously I am going to have to cut 1.75" to 2" off of my drive shaft to get it to work.

so how is the rpm transmission holding up, have you really put some power to it at the track? I mean some good 5000, 6000 rpm clutch dumps making 700 plus wheel.

Any updates on how this transmission is holding up. I will be installing mine on Friday. Also would like to know if it shifts smoother than a T-56. Thanks.

Transmission shifts very good and smooth. Still having problems getting the proper transmission yoke and driveshaft to fit far enough on the output shaft and not hit inside the housing. I have cut several yokes trying to get the right fit. I have a drive train vibration between 80 & 90 mph. because the yoke is sloppy on the shaft. George Rockland is trying to tell me that it is my rear end gear ratio (4.10) that is causing the problem. Funny, I wasn't getting that with my T56. I am having a drive shaft setup for me now that will hopefully help, but if not, I am going to get someone to tear it down and fix the problem with the housing. Rockland seems to be in denial. My T56 is @ TDP getting upgraded including a 31 spline output shaft. So I will have that option, and I can take the Magnum out to get fixed if need be.

I won't be doing any drag strip runs until I get this problem sorted out.

I will know soon! Good luck with yours. Check your yoke fit very carefully.
