Trans cooler on a manual?
Ok, so I was telling this guy about my last track day, and how it was hard for me to shift being that it was so hot outside and my trans being so hot. He said that his dad once put a trans mission cooler on his jeep (manual trans). I didn't think you could do that, and have never heard of anyone doing so. So, my question is, can I put a trans cooler on my T56?
The newer Corvettes have a factory installed cooler on them.
As do the 2010 Camaros with the TR6060.
Its not something that should be necessary on any street driven car, or even for mild track use. For heavy track use or racing, then it can be beneficial.
The only reason the '10 Camaro has one is because GM's new performance requirements for all SS vehicles mandates that the car perform a certain amount of consecutive hours of track use without overheating or having any problems. In order to accomplish that, a transmission cooler was necessary.
that's probably a hydrolic issue, not the trans fluid getting hot. about all you can do is put heat wrap on the line from the master to the slave cylinder.

doesnt work, my brothers has his heat wrapped and it still sticks. he even has the heat refelctor tape on the hydraulic line and it still sticks.

This is what i am thinking too, the actual transmission fluid wont be an issue but clutch Hyd. Fluid would be. Putting actual heat guard on the line is a big help, the only CM that i have seen consistantly work is the Tick unit as it pushes more fluid and the line has actualy heat guard, not fuel line and reflective tape.
