Default Steve@MONSTER Clutch CO....

Let me start off my 1st saying i have prolly had more problems than ANYONE on here. And EVERYtime Steve has MORE than taken care of me. I was one of the ones who got a bad batch of PP's the 1st go around, and something went South this time as well. Without discussing all of the "details" i will say this: From a personal stand point; Steve is one of the nicest guys to deal with EVER, he won't sell you something expensive YOU don't need. Business wise: What other clutch company gives a year warr. and actually stands behind it???? Lead alone makes a thread about the companies failure of PP's??? NO one does that anymore in ANY industry. In a world of crooks, rip offs, and skeems, it seems there may still be a few good companys/guys left Steve here is 1 of them. This is comming from a guy who HAS NOT had a clutch go right for him as of yet, but has FULL confidence that Steve will stand behind what ever the problem is. There has been NO back and forth BS about install error, driver error, bleeding issues, as Steve knows im am not a noob at clutchs/hydrolics. Everyone else always seems to find a reason why their product can NOT fail, Steve will admit his failures and see you through the problems. So for this....i reccomend ALL of you to try a Monster in your car. Hopefully my problems are gone for good, but if they aren't i know who to turn to and will take care of me.
Chris

I appreciate the post man, I hate that you're 0-2 with a Monster at this point. Like I told you via email, we've just not been matching the clutch to the vehicle. I think that will all change with the one we're sending tomorrow!

Well, I've got to say.. I've got a few real close friends here in Houston that run the Monster clutch. And man let me tell ya, these guys abuse the hell out of their cars. I mean driving them like they stole em 24/7. And not a single problem. So, I'm totally convinced that Monster makes a product that can perform and last. Good job Steve.

Chris was actually the one to convince me into using monster for my next clutch purchase.. that and the fact that their customer service on this site and over the phone ha been unmatched by any other GM based aftermarket clutch company. Hopefully that new clutch of yours will be able to tame that 427 LS1 of yours

yeah, without a doubt, yours is a weird one, and seem to be teh "unlucky" one. Too many out there, to say otherwise. I know you are shifting higher than most. But, I have spun some motors @ 7500 with a Monster behind them, with not a problem one.

LMAO, hardley....done so many i can do them in my sleep. Any swap is simple...but a single disk with NO shim, or etc....is dummy proof.
That and a tick mc and speed bleeder and it's cake.

You have me confused with someone else i only spin 7k. Mine haven't made it to the next gear at the track, this one seems to have "welded" itself up. Pushes itself when you try to start...you have to dump the clutch cause it pushing while your cranking, and won't crank. Can't really shift gears, clutch won't disengauge, with it off everything feels fine. Steve said these disks are not liking the heat which is why so far it has been golden on the street, but at the track it shit on itself. Was a nice cool day and had a good 60ft What it would have ran......

You mean the smart guy with more power than you?? Anyways, bump for a great company that stands behind their product. Heard about them through the grapevine, and with the exception of chris :cough: wonder why :cough:, people I've talked to have had outstanding results. Keep up the good work guys.

Must be what happens when you try to run a clutch that is only rated for 900ft lbs with a giant motor and 3 kits

Well, that is even weirder then, as I have shifted quite a few @ those RPMS, and no problem. The Level 6 install I did a couple/few weeks ago, that car, have had at the track, I shift @ 6700, and has seen the north side of 7000RPM as well. No, this car is not making power @ 7K. Have done it for teh sake of testing. My customer has been gracious enough to let me abuse his car for "testing" purpose's. Car runs best when I shift at @ 6400-6500 though. But again, have shifted at higher RPM's, for testing...
Yeah, I know, that is cool of him. Granted, we are under the "if I break it, I pay for it" contract

MAYBE if you had disclosed your combo to them, they would have recommended their triple disc setup to you, but no....

Well, FINALLY some good news. I went to the track made 5 passes and the Monster Level 6 worked GREAT! Hopefully this is the end of my problems, clutch feels great. I always went with the .5's for a full face over a puck. For those of you on the fence of a Monster puck, have NO worries. The Level 6 has not chattered 1 time from install, to break in, to track passes, to the drive home. Actually i like it better than the full faces. Best Puck i have ever driven NO doubt on that one!!
