Default out of town and the clutch went...

helphelp. i'm visiting family out of town and out of nowhere my clutch pedal started to stick, and then no longer fully disengages. It goes to the floor with no resistance, and then only springs back maybe 15% of the original travel. What's wrong? i want to leave.

i think i have a leaking slave or something and it's out of fluid, so hopefully i can just fill it up, bleed it, and drive it home. otherwise i might have to rent a trailer and tow it home...

btw a thread of previous clutch issues. 98 M6 TA 43k miles.

yeah....i was able to start it in gear and shift without the clutch onto the highway and made it all the way home. couldn't get 6th gear tho, so 5th had to do. It's in the garage now and i'll have to tear into it this week. Such a relief making it home.

Hydro issue, and problay not gonna get ya home, unless you can start your car in say 4th or 5th gear, and try and get it rolling from a dead stop in those gears...end up wearing out the clutch though...

The clutch was stuck basically engaged with only about 2inches of weak clutch pedal play. I had to pull the pedal all the way back with my toes, but no point really since it doesn't do anything until the very end of it's travel. so I put her in gear, depressed the clutch(the clutch safety switch still works, thank god) and got her rolling, Shifted without the clutch, and drove the 220 miles home. I still have yet to put it up in the air and take a look, but when I do I know an Aamco manager and I'll probably have him take a look at it as well. Depending on what I see in there when we crack it open I may also be in the market for a new clutch.

Can the slave leak onto the clutch itself or does it just break internally so it no longer acts as a hydraulic cylinder anymore? I'm not totally familiar with how different parts of a transmission fail.
