your correct. it is repalcing the t56. Tremic no longer makes the t56 out of the box( brand new) you can get parts.

the tr6060 can be ordered with stock f-body gears or ford gears. so first is either a 2.66 or a 2.97

i went with a 2.66. great trany. just issue with the shifter.

Hope Ron can give me a great price.

i will agree again with Ron.

Tremic rates these trans at 700ft-lb and well you know how the t56 was rated at 350ft-lb and lasted to like 700. so i think with this one i can push it beyond 1000.

i am hoping to push 1000-1200 wheel horse. so i will let you know waht this thing holds

Nice, what about getting one of these faceplated or would this one be fine shifting at 7500 to at least 8000rpms? I will be in the market for one very soon.

I cant see that transmission holding 1k to the wheels. It may, but the weight and tq of what ever is behind it will kill it. I found one transmission that will hold over 1k to the wheels and its dam near 9k out the box and a 5 speed. I hope i am wrong because I love my six speed, but i think its the gear cluster that is the weak point. If some one builds a bullet proof gearcluster then im all in, Me personally I wouldent car how loud the gear whine is as long as it stays togather. Bump for a bad *** transmission.

so I'm a little confused...

$4995.00 RETAIL

Is this the top of the line fully loaded version? With all the below modifications already done?

$4495.00 without Micropolish/Bronze Pads

Can you go into detail a little more on what this Micropolishing is?

$1695.00 To modify your Magnum

Modify it to what?

**Faceplating is Available!!!**

What's Faceplating?

$3500.00 1rst thru 4th
Additional $1200.00 for 5th/6th

Again... is this included in the top price for $4995???

sorry for all the questions, like I said, the transmission department is my Achilles heel

Holy crap, that is alot of money.

But i guess that is what it has to cost, i know it takes alot of time, money, machinery and workers to modify it.

I might have to just stick with my stock t-56 for modifying.

$4995.00 RETAIL

All modifications are included in this price EXCEPT face plating... Face plating is an additional option.

$4495.00 without Micropolish/Bronze Pads

Can you go into detail a little more on what this Micropolishing is?

Micropolish is a process that enhances the metal finish on a microscopic level. The process reduces heat and friction in the transmission. The result is a much quicker shifting transmission as well as a temperature reduction of 50-75 degrees.

$1695.00 To modify your Magnum

Modify it to what?

To be converted, the transmission has to be disassembled completely to modify the mainshaft, clutster shaft, and other parts, as well as the tailhousing being modified to fit the larger shaft and one piece cluster. The shifter rail is a custom built piece as well to fit the magnum transmission with the F-body tailhousing. We also install a custom reluctor ring for the F-body

**Faceplating is Available!!!**

What's Faceplating?

Face plating is a modification that removes the synchronizers from the gears and allows the transmission to be shifted much faster. The transmission can be shifted without letting out on the gas at 7000+ rpm.

$3500.00 1rst thru 4th
Additional $1200.00 for 5th/6th

Again... is this included in the top price for $4995???

No sir, it is not.. See pricing just above this reply for face plating.

sorry for all the questions, like I said, the transmission department is my Achilles heel... No worries!! This is what I am here for!!!

I disagree... My STOCK T56 in a 3400lb F Body held for 2 FULL seasons making 850rwhp with ZERO issues... The key to keeping a 6 spd alive is not missing gears and not powershifting...

Faceplating aside, b/c I doubt many will put up with it for D/D. How much of a difference is there between these tranmissions? How much more can the Magnum hold in %? How much is the shifting improved? Dose a built and micropolished 56 shift better than a stock Magnum? And just to be sure, this modifeid Magnum is a direct boltin for the GTO without shortening the driveshaft or any other modifications?

The TR-6060 (T-56 Magnum) requires extensive modification to face plate, including custom input shaft, custom sliders, and billet bronze forks.... The T56 is MUCH less involved to faceplate.

Awesome! Thanks for clearing that up Ron!

Although very very expensive... seems like the last transmission you'd have to buy LOL

At least I'd hope so!

Thanks for the info man, i bet this transmission will be seriously strong when faceplated or even without faceplating. I wonder if it could match up or even best the getrag 6 speed in the supra. Only time will tell.

I want to see how it holds up to a serious turbo build.

Most f bodys are not 3400 lbs, That was one of my points I agree that not missing gears or power shifting will help. But for a full weight car I think it will only live about the same time as a well built t56. In either case Its a great option for those who want a badd *** 6 speed and 5k is not that bad I have about 3.8 k in mine now and it lived at 813 hp and a number of 180+ mph 5 th gear pulls. I think this transmission would lived behind a 3.4k car or less at 1000+rwhp
