| Installed the Pro 5.0 It arrived yesterday and i put in today. i also bought the 6" short stick too.
Here is my thoughts.
Pro 5.0 is a great shifter. had it in my 97 GT. Now for the handel. i put the 6 handel on, which is a straigth handel with no bends at all. SO put the car back together. After i was done i was looking at the stick, and at i noticed that it was not in the center.... So i went throught the gears. 1st gear looked like 3rd gear. 5th and reverest was sooooooooooooooooooo far over to the right, and it hit the side of the center consloe.. So i took the 6'' stick out, grabbed the pro 5.0 stick and cut 1 3/8'' off. compared the two stick and the 6" was about 1/4'' taller after i was done. put the pro 5.0 back on stick was right in the center i was a happy camper.
the main difference between the pro 5.0 and 6''SS is that the pro 5.o is angled to the driver! BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!
so any one deciding on buying the pro 5.0 and any of the ss (6" or 6.5") i would say NO and cut the pro 5.0 stick..
anyone have any other questions let me know... |

| i have a question and i think i may know the answer. When i shift slow going into 2nd gear if i do not use some muslce to get it in, it pops out of gear.. But if i shft slow and give it some muscle it goes in fine. Now i was thinking that it maybe how i set the stops?? Anyone else have this problem??
let me know, thanks |

| The stops only come into play once you get it in gear. They stop it from going farther than needed. Sounds like you just need to use more muscle and shift faster. I actually removed my stops from the shifter. Some use then some don't. Supposedly....the tranny has internal stops....supposedly. Quote: |

| I have the pro 5.0. I had a LSS stick on it and it was fine with the stock hurst knob but with my MBA shift knob it would hit the console in 2nd gear. I bought a stick that comes with the 5.0, cut it a bit, and put the shift knob on. I love the way it feels.

| I bought my Pro 5.0 from a guy on the board. He had a 1/2" spacer block made up to go between the 5.0 and the stick, so it puts the handle in the right spot. I have done that same thing going into 2nd gear a couple of times. |
