Default High RPM vibration

I get a light vibration at rpms in excess of 4k, It has been doing this for about a year now so I'm starting to wonder if it is the tranny, wouldn't it of died by now?
I have a SPEC 3 clutch w/SPEC steel flywheel, which besides occasionally giving me fits on getting the car into a gear from neutral it works fine.

Also, I recently discovered it does it while revving the car in neutral as well.

What transmount are you running? Also crawl underneath and check out your torque arm mount for cracks. A failing pilot bearing could also cause this because the mainshaft of the trans spins inside that bearing. In my case the bearing was completley gone and I would get bad vibrations above 4k even with the stock clutch setup.

I have just a rubber trans mount. If it is the torque arm mount it will be fixed when I throw in the new torque arm and mount Sunday...but I don't see how it could be, because it vibrates in neutral with or with out the clutch engaged.

Thanks for the reply.

Oh it does it in neutral as well. It could still be tranny mount although very unlikely in neutral. Being that it is a 96, motor mounts could also be and issue but I would never rule out the possibility of a blown pilot bearing.

pretty new LT4 pilot bearing. I'll check the motor mounts though.

Take a close look at your crankshaft balancer for abnormalities. The steel flywheel a recent install? Maybe threw off the engines natural recipricating balance. I have accually purchased and installed an aftermarket flywheel that had a bad balance.
