I didn't think that was sad at all. I think it's pretty respectable. For approximately the same price as a decked out Mustang GT and almost a full second quicker at a few tenths quicker then the Challenger.

A 2002 SS was rated to be around 13.4 or 13.5 was is not? I see it as a newer car which is quicker and for almost the same price they sold for 7 years ago.

Of course there's room for improvement, and I'm more then confident that plenty of members on this very site will show us just what this car is capable of.

It does need some wider shoes though

Put something sticky on the back and it is automatically in the 12's. I/E and some bolt-ons and it should be a low 12 sec, hell a high 11 sec monster with out even going in the motor.

Those times were recorded on a ice rink...get that car on the track with a real driver it it will be high 12's easy. Minor mods to uncork the motor will be mid low 12's. Sad my ass, the car has alot of potential.

I would buy one if it weighed 3,600lbs or less. Throw a little D1 on it and it would be a nice street car.

By the way that one sounded I swore it was just the v6 version. I really hope that it's more MANLY of a car when they start hitting the real roads.

From all the threads in the dyno section it seems like the LS3 takes well to tuning so I am sure with a good driver, some decent tires and some tuning/free mods, the car could be well in the 12's. Add some headers and a good flowing exhaust and 11's will be closer than you think, especially with some weight reduc. I like the new camaro, just looks heavy and is. I cant wait to see how much weight people can get off theses car without turning it into a full race car.

Right around 4000 lbs for the new SS. The new Z/28 (if it ever DOES come out) was estimated around 4100 lbs...but hell, you have 554 supercharged hp coming out of it!

3900-4000, for the ss.. Not to bad for a tank.. Few mods, you got a healthy 12 sec ride.. I am not liking the looks, but it is faster then the challenger.
