I think if he could have made it through the 1/4 w/o shifting to 4th it would've helped a lot.

If they were factory options from GM or a company that has permission from GM, like shelby has with Ford, then yes.

Either way, that time was pretty sick. The trap also suggests that it can get much deeper into the 10's with only slicks.

Yeah this car isn't stock, I'm glad Sarge said it.

The counter-argument about the track making a car not stock is very weak. Stock means the way is sits in the showroom, if you change something important like tires then it isn't stock. As someone said before when GM starts making ZR1s with DRs then it's stock, otherwise its dumb to argue that tires aren't a mod and a modded car is by defination no longer stock.

Thank you.
You guys would be fucking up in arms if a GT500 ran 10's bone stock but drag radials saying the exact same thing I am.
STOCK = SHOWROOM/FACTORY STOCK. anything to modify its performance in anyway does not make it stock.

So if you change from Mobile 1 oil to Castrol you are no longer stock right? What about running 91 or 94 octane pump gas instead of the factory recommended 93? Still not stock? I can see your argument but I think it's ridiculous and I couldn't resist busting some balls Obviously I am of the mind that DRs are not a "real" mod. That Ranger sure can drive a 'Vette.

LOL, if you need more evidence go dig up all the GTR threads that have been locked where people claimed the GTR was not stock because of the tires it used at the Nuremberg. I agree, it's not stock, but impressive nevertheless.

It's more impressive to me to see a stock C6Z with DR's run the same time/trap as the ZR1 with DR's.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1562974474-post221.html

When did C6Z's and ZR1's come with DR's from the factory?

I said anything that improves performance be it handling, braking, or acceleration, its a mod. Does motor oil change performance? DR's do help performance helping the car to hook up which makes it a "real" mod.

It is kind of disappointing on the ZR1's part, hopefully in better weather it'll best the Z06's.

The ZR1 is an amazing car...no question about it...so don't take this the wrong way, but I honestly would expect more out of that car given it's power to weight ratio. 130mph traps are definitely stout. I would think 135mph would be impressive for a stock ZR1. 130mph is what I would expect. Maybe I'm just being overly critical. Regardless, it's
a bad dude.

135 would be impressive

Stock on street tires ofcourse ...... with 93 octane

On a side note, I know of a few KB Cobras that will put the smack down on it. Considering that's only a $25K Mustang, that's impressive ! That's another whole thread right there.

Actually, there are a few mod'd N/A LS3's that are trapping 130-131 too. Cars are getting really strong these days.

If you listen to the hype motor oil does affect performance. That's neither here nor there, I was just playing devils advocate so relax. I also have to agree with Unit about the car being somewhat low in the mph department for the HP.

I also think the ZR1 should be faster than what it is. I bet if you stripped a couple hundred pounds out of it and got it on the Z06 weight level it might do better. I would hope so anyway...

YES it does!

And in my opinion if your car can run 10s with just a drag radial, how can your car not be stock anymore ?
