Just saw this thread.

I sold him a part months ago, he made me run all over town and wait over an hour for him while him and his brother were looking at cars. He wasn't where he said he would be, then I finally met him at an ATM, and he didn't have all the money. I said screw it, I'm not going to waste hours of my time and get nothing, so I sold him the part. A few weeks later he had the part listed on this site for more than I sold it to him for.

He's a grade A tool.

Someone on another forum mentioned it looks like a Daaco converter. I searched google images and sure enough...it's a Daaco.

Xplicitperformance, it's like I was telling you in the Darkdemon post...It doesn't surprise me that you're friends with him. You both are shady characters. You definitely belong together!

You, obviously, don't operate a legitmate business, as you stated. But, it goes without saying, anytime money exchanges hands is considered business. Pay the man the money you owe him and you may be able to salvage some type of decent reputation. Or don't, and you, along with DarkDemon, won't be able to sell a nut & bolt for a nickel. The choice is yours to make.

To the O.P., continue to hold your ground. And don't ever back down one inch from people like this. Good luck, man.

Make sure to print EVERYTHING and organize it neatly. Threads, PM's, emails, shipping receipts, phone logs, text messages, bank account/paypal statements...the more, the better.

Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get something hard from Yank stating it isn't one of their converters. I don't know what other communication you've had with them but whatever it would take for them to send you some paperwork that says they guarantee 100% it's NOT their converter.

It sucks that this happened to you, nothing worse than getting screwed over by someone else. But as some others have said, you did drop the ball when you let 2 months go by without anything more than taking a peek at the converter. Nevertheless, fraud is fraud.

I hope you get your money back.

Pictures are a must before buying should have been a dead giveaway that it wasn't a yank.

Good luck!

If you go to the web forum in his sig, he has a business selling and installing performance parts on cars. If he can do that he should be able to figure out what piece of equipment is in his hands. I also find it funny that if this was such a great deal, why didnt he offer it up to the people local to his forum?

Here is another link where this is being discussed. In this thread there is a link to a for sale thread where he had the same stall for sale. He edited "yank" out if the thread and was called out on it. Funny things is he can't edit the title and it still says yank.

http://www.htownracing.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=43048

He does have a business selling parts. http://xplicitperformance.ecrater.com/

The site hasn't been updated since April. I've notified the BBB.

Here’s a thread on westsidemustangs showing that he deleted the thread on their site since he's an admin over there. He obviously has nothing to hide.

Wow that sux dude, He should not have posted a name of a converter if he wasnt sure. He did state that if you provided info that it wasnt a yank he would refund, and he re renigged on that too. I really hope that you get a refund. Do you still have the packing, file a small calims against him in his county. Karma will get him eventually.

With the avenues I've gone down, I don't think it will go as far as me filing a small claims against him. But, if it comes to that, I will.

They are trying to be a business. In a garage but I guess hoping to build a shop. Still, when you tout being able to do anything performance related (UPR dealer, say they will do engine/transmission work) you should know what part is in your hand, especially when you sell it.

HAHA, the linked site in his profile is gone.
