Default GM Hot Cam?

When replacing a stock cam in a 98 LS1 with a GM Hot Cam Kit do you need to replace the stock pushrods with shorter one's.

Thanks

Yes. I would also do springs as well as a timing chain.

Default GM Hot Cam?

I've replaced the timing chain and the valve springs. The instruction with the cam did not mention changing the pushrods. Any idea on what pushrods I should use with this cam. I think the lift is between 515 and 525?

my guess would be that they designed the cam to run stock pushrods.

HOWEVER...stock pushrods are not the strongest pieces. so i would change them out of reliability concerns.

I am 99% sure that cam has a stock base circle size so no you don't have to go shorter. Some good stiff chromemoly P-rods would deflect less and be an upgrade though.

if your doing a cam swap and already replaceing the springs and pushrods then i'd get a better cam then a Hot Cam. Go big or go home!
