Default Opsu???

long story short the oil pressure guage at idle in gear warm would bounce but be steady and gain pressure when accelerating. now it doesnt bounce anymore but just sits in the neighborhood of 25 PSI at idle. since i have had the car it would always stay about 38 PSI at idle warm. why all the sudden cahnge? OPSU gone bad?

does it fluctuate with RPM's? it should...if it doesnt, it probably went bad.

You might replace the sensor and see if it helps. Being that it fluctuated, it might be going bad. You can also put a mechanical gauge one it and see if it is reading right. If it turns out to be correct, it could be the pick up shifted or worse case a bearing problem. I would start with the sensor swap or checking with a mechanical gauge.

Careful with a mechanical gauge! Oil being run around in the cockpit never made me excited....I have used plenty of electrical oil press. gauges and they work great, no need to run oil into the driver/passenger area.

well heres my problem... i am not opposed by any means of checking it manually. actually i would prefer that. but i dont know how to. me and my dad tried looking for a oil port, or anywhere that i can screw in a manual gauge but couldnt find a spot. rumor has it i HAVE to drill and tap to get a manual reading.
