^free ram air isn't possible for his car (already has ram air!)

Everything else is possible though.

You mean like you just did also!!!

To the OP, the above posted links are good. You can also debaffle inside the hood scoops if that's considered a mod.

Is that 9K original miles on the car (or is a typo and should be 90k miles)? If so, that is a serious garage queen I would say.

Here are some free or cheap mods I've tried with some results:

1: Seal Ram Air hood to air box - low cost or free - noticable gain
2. Throttle body bypass - low cost or free - supporting mod for ptb
3. Port throttle body/bump stop mod - free - better throttle response, few hp
4. Iat temp resistor - low cost or free - noticable gain if conditions are right
5. Weight reduction - spare tire, jack, floor mats.. - good mod for the track
6. Chevron Purescape fuel additive -around $7- noticable gain and better mpg
7. Switch to synthetic motor oil - adds a few hp and better protection
8. Short stick - cheap on ebay- shorter throws, no more missed gears

hmmm a 9thousand mile 02 WS6...........sounds like u paid close to the 20k mark?? on a car like that i wouldnt be to eager to go do a bunch of "free mods" that do nothing for the car except make it look like some 19 year old kid has been spending more time on LS1 tech.com as opposed to at work making money for real mods..................how about save your money for a nice rear end or exhaust?

he didn't say you were, he said your car will look like thats who owns it after you do that. and quite frankly he gave you a compliment that your car is way to nice to be doing "free mods" too.

I'd start with some basic bolt ons.....pro 5-0 shifter, get rid of skip shift, full exhaust, lid, thermostat, underdrive pulleys etc. It also depends on what you wanna do with the car as to what mods you should do. Sounds like you got a nice car to start with though. congratulations on a great find
