I just got an 04 Z06 CE. Got a good deal on it. But after doing a little research it appears GM changed up the fuel system a bit to be more EPA freindly. Apparently everything, including the fuel filter is located inside the tank and they changed up a few things. This major change is applicable to every Z06 made midway thru the 2003 model year.
Has anyone done any actual testing on the 04 system?
I see Racetronix really doesnt have anything for the 04 except the basic walbro kit. Im wondering if there are any issues with just replacing the walbro such as pickup issues below 1/4 tank?

mine dropped a bit with a racetronix and KB BAP. this was on my H/C setup and a 100 shot. i wanted to up the shot so dave hooked me up with a standalone. alot of fi guys are over 600 at the wheels but are using meth.
so what was your total? Around 550 rwhp?
And this was an 04 z06?
the racetronix setup you used consisted of what exactly? Just a walbro? Any fuel issues with a very low tank?
yea my car is an 04. my car was around 450 NA and did around 560 on a 100shot. all the racetronix harness does is allow your fuel pump to pull current directly from the alternator and allow for an easy install of a BAP. if you do not want to go that route a&a corvette and ecs have some pretty sweet fuel systems. the a&a kit is around 1k and the ecs is around 2. come winter that is the route im going to do since ive decided to go fi.

Im only looking for around 600 rwhp with a dry nitrous setup. Seems I am right on the cusp.

id go with a wet kit, as will many people you ask. call one of the shops and see if they will recommend a kit that would suit what you are looking for. but i think wet is the way to go.

I have been around nitrous and LS1s a while bro...lol. My basic question was specifically about fueling capability of 04 Z06's. But I appreciate your input.
I guess I must have been gone longer than I thought.

im just wondering why you want a dry setup, throw an inline fuel pump on it and get a wet kit and forget about it. once its tuned your done. no more worries about what kind of shot you can run because your not worried about how much the injectors can handle. the solenoid will supply the extra fuel with the help of the inline pump.

seriously bro, you need to do some research before you post or give any more advise.

Because I have had many nitrous kits over the years. Dry, all wet, two stage wet/dry, two stage dry/dry, two stage wet/wet, three stage dry/dry/dry, 2 stage direct port/dry, single stage direct port with progressive rpm controller, and on and on.
The absolute hands down most reliable setup I have ever owned and operated was a dual stage dry setup with automatic timing retard tuned in. It was on a 383 ci motor that made about 415 rwhp on motor and 700-725 rwhp on the dual stage dry. It was simple...effective...and NEVER had a glitch in the three years I ran it like that. I probably put 2000-2500 lbs of nitrous thru that motor. The motor finally had to be torn down because I wore out the thrust bearing...it was completely gone. The counter weight on the crank was riding on the main cap. The play fwd and aft on the crank got soo bad that when I would spray it...the crank would walk fwd and the crank position sensor would lose signal and the computer would lose timing. The car would backfire like a bomb and shut off...lol. You just had to shut it off and it would crank back up.
When I finally pulled it apart...pistons looked like brand new. I tried many combos in the years after that motor...but never duplicated the reliability of that system. I made alot more power with other combos...but the dual stage dry was by far my most succesful setup.
And now I would like to duplicate that on the much lighter Z06 and shoot for roughly 600-650 rwhp...stock bottom end...cam only.

I don't see why there would be too much of an issue below a quarter tank. The vettes have dual tanks, one large, one small. The small tank is always filled so you don't have starvation during hard launches or cornering.
