2 stage dry kit using 1 nozzle and one bottle PICS and write up
I wanted to go at my next project a little differently so a top of me having a 5.3 engine with a Zo6 cam ,springs ,and intake with full length slp headers,A 4L65 Trans, and a 4.10 gear, I added a nitrous dry kit .
I formerly used this kit as a wet kit on my 2002 z28 , I had an extra nos solenoid, and this is my result, I have yet to use it at the track , but on my Drag radials on the street it is a deadly combo.
First things first.....
Here is the bottle configuration, I did not want a 2 bottle set up, because they take up too much space, so I fabbed this up.
I had a 6an line off of an old cheater system, which I use for the larger shot of the two, and a 4an line for the smaller shot.
Next comes the solenoids and nozzle, I wondered if the wet kit nozzle would work with dual N2O shot instead of N2O and Fuel... The answer is Hell yes.
Now for arming and activation, the first and main shot is armed bay a standard toggle ,and activated via a micro switch at WOT, to the untrained eye it still looks like a single stage wet kit, other than the fact that you don't spray fuel through the mass air.
That being said ,I tried to make the second stage a little more stealthy, here is where the second stage comes in,What appears to be a cell phone charger that has been hard wired in is actually a momentary activation switch.
Here is the cord..
here is the hook up..
Here it is where it goes..
And this is how it works..
Any input Good or bad is wanted....
so what do you think.

All of it is a trial set up, with extra parts I have a y ordered along with a heater and remote opener, and a 3rd solenoid for a purge.
I just wanted to see if it could be done, and it works fine .
Thanks for the comments .

It looks nice, but I don't see it being too stealthy. Like you said you aren't spraying fuel through the MAF, I'm guessing both of your solenoids say NITROUS on them, and you aren't tapping into anything to pull fuel. Maybe to someone who has no idea what they are looking at it would be confusing, but it kind of sticks out.
I do really like the switch idea with the cell phone charger. What do you have that running into? Do you just plug it into the cig lighter? The way the wire is running makes me think you have it wired into something by the pedals.

Nice, I like the push button with cell phone charger. I assume you are using it to activate a relay for the second solenoid. Not too much power required for a relay so im sure that switch is enough.

Pre MAF I would check the a/f ratio thru out the run to be safe. Like has been said, the "Y" fitting would be better, however, the restriction and/or Phase change on smaller hits will really be a non issue, been there done that. I have a button for my 3rd stage mounted on my steering wheel. great job all in all.

that definately looks bad *** and yes you need to check the afr thoughout the entire run on both stages. ALso make one -6 all the way to the solenoids then y fitting to both noids, it will be cheaper and only 1 line instead of 2 to run in the car.
other than that awesome setup man

Sorry for the delay in responding to an old post ,the reason for running 2 lines was for the installation of a gauge, besides like I said before it was a mock up from old stuff around the shop.
I did run both N20 solenoids off the 6an line, here is a photo.
As it turns out the 5.3 with the Zo6 camshaft and intake responded well and the ls1 injectors were ample but a 125 hp dry shot was cutting it close on the the fuel map. so I sprayed a 50 shot off the line and grabbed 75 hp about 75 feet out. on motor alone the car runs 13.7x's with a 2.2x 60' time I guess the cam profile was a bit much for a 5.3 with no converter, but on a 50 shot only out of the hole it netted a 1.71 60' and a 12.7x in the 1/4 and on the full 125 shot out of the hole a 1.59 60' and mid to high 11's
here is a video at Steele Alabama the pass before this one was on the whole 125 on launch and through the 1/4 the car got loose in 2nd gear I guess something was on the track. this pass was on a 50 shot and and ran 12.70's ok for a 5.3
