I believe stock plugs are platinum, no? Either way go to a TR6 plug. Like posted above, also make sure that your timing wasn't advanced any.

For that samll of a shot, as long as good fuel is in there, the window or safety margin should be fine. Def put in at least a TR-6. Unless the car was on the ragged edge to begin with I would not fear a 75 shot.
