Arrow Safe Enough?

Alright i know this is a hard question to answer but im looking for some opinoins.....

Do you guys think i will be ok running a 175 shot with some race gas and TR6 plugs gapped @ 38 and 23 degrees of timing?

My setup is pretty simple stock bottom end LS1 (114k)/cam/Lt's/stall and some spray with a Racetronix fuel pump.....

I would definitely go to a non projected tip thread...not TR6's.

the tune has to be spot on...most run to rich and lift a ring land.

That plug is too hot, you need a #7 plug, and the timing IMO, is too high, I'd pull it back a few more then 23, more like 20.

a/f needs to be right as mentioned, somewhere in the mid to high 12's depending on the car/weather/etc.

Stock compresion and yes the car has seen dyno time as it is tuned by Mike Norris and on the 125 shot she put down right at 500rwhp/570rwtq....

And the only reason why i havent went to the TR7's is because i hear you need a retune to keep your idle just right......

And on a 150shot the A/F is always around 11.4-11.8 and have never had any problems whatsoever.....

then why are you asking us?

a TR6 is to hot of a plug for that much juice...go to the plugs that Nick @ HSW suggested...you could just lean out the a/f now on your 150 and pick up quite a bit I bet.

its rich.

Go down 1 fuel jet size and put the #7 plug in the car, it will probably pick up a tenth at the track and be safer due to the correct heat range plug.

Keep running it at 11.4 and it will eventually have problems if the rings are not done yet. does she put some oil in the catch can? on the TB? Get the 150 tunbe correct before going up a jet. Your tune is not close...

It has been running like this with the same tune for about a year now maybe a little longer with 114k on the clock stock internals.....

The car doesnt burn/use alot of oil just out of curiousity what A/F ratio do you guys think is best?

something in the area JL said...mid to high 12's. but tune off the plugs, is best.

but 11.4 is not close.

because it has been running like that doesn't mean its ideal/right. you'll pick up quite a bit leaning it out and be safer on the 150 THEN up it if you want to.

but stock everything w/ 114k and a 175...if its not dead on you will break it.

Chad

It doesnt take much oil for it to tear shit up.
oil+N20+fuel=boom

All that said its hard to hurt stuff with a 150 shot.

I'll take your guys advice and try to lean it out a bit on the 150shot i didnt say this earlier but it's not my daily so if it goes BOOM then thats just another excuse to build the motor......
