Default What to use to cut plugs?

So to get a good reading on your plugs you cut the threaded part off, right? The pics I saw looked like really clean cuts, is there a tool made for this? Didn't look like your typical angle grinder/dremel job in the ones I saw.

die grinder with a cut off wheel, dremmel with a cut off wheel will work. cut below the threads.

some people use a lathe but not many have them.

A lathe would be the best, but like mentioned it's not something alot of people have.

Air tool with a cutoff wheel, that's your best bet. Dremel will do it, but you'll be there a while if you've got a bunch of plugs to do and you'll go thru the disks pretty quick.

Easyest at the track is Dewalts 18V battery angle grinder with a 6" cutoff wheel. just enough power to cut but not grab the plug and throw it at your car LOL. a vice would be nice but were not that high tech yet..... vice grips and the cutoof wheel...

the reason the cuts look good is a cuttof wheel will not cut porcelin so it just cuts the metal

Just watch the heat of the cutting action while doing it.

I have a very small lathe already.. but it's not big enough to really do much with.

I hear ya though. I've been looking for a bridgeport to put in the garage, once that happens I'm screwed
