Default Launching a M6 with nitrous off the line

How do you guys do it?

I am about to hook up my wet hit, and the only thing that is worrying me is leaving on the juice.

I have a WOT / Window switch.... I am assuming I can leave at 5k, get it hooked and then push it to the floor and do it that way... but it'd be nice to actually LAUNCH off the nitrous...

I am just afraid if I was to go WOT before the clutch dump, if the motor was to bog or anything of that sort I'd be in trouble.

Let me know how you guys do it.

I leave around 4k on spray..hold the RPMs at 4k, dump the clutch and slam the pedal to the floor. with all that TQ a higher RPM isnt as important..or youll be grabbing 2nd before you know it and probably hurt your 60ft. 4k-6.3k got me through the 60ft in 1.6sec

Let's say for some reason it was to dead hook, and bog the motor...
wouldn't we be seeing a big explosion at that point?

If it bogs i would think it would put the rpm below your window switch.

In that case, it'd cut the spray, and then when it got moving again and recovered from the bog, it'd resume spray once it hit the RPM window...

hmm.

I might just have to leave on the shit once I get this all hooked up.

I have a timing tunner with a nos dselay that is adjustable. I leave on the 2 step at 6,000rpm. I need to get my suspension set up better but right now it will pull a 1.45 60ft. pulling the wheels over a foot high.

oh ya, be ready to find your weak link in your drivetrain. I blew a ring and pinion gear set in my 12 bolt after about 20 passes in the 1.49- 1.45 60ft. range.

In theory, would leaving off the 2 step at 6k, and then immediately hitting the arm switch on the nitrous work?

depends on the controller. My old MSD window switch took forever to boot up. My Micro Edge is ready to go damn near instantly. I would like to just have a delay built in...but it would be too set up trying to figure how much take out. I wish Lingenfelter would just put a freaking ground output on their 2 step. It took me forever to get over the fact that it dosnt turn off after the inital launch and will activate when you hit the clutch again.

O yea..if you havnt launched that high before with slicks...hitting a button when your launching is interesting to do
sorry for somewhat hijacking your thread

i mat it to the floor with the spray on and just side step the clutch. 7200+ rpm's off the line and yank the tires up 1.46 60 ft. just make sure if your gonna do this you have a 9" cause 12 bolts will break

It's been a while since I was a 6-speed, but back in 01-02 I would bring it up to 6k and dump it on a 200 shot. One hell of a ride. I tore up 2 driveshafts and 2 tq arms. I went to a Dennys shaft and then the ring gear and mainshaft in the trans went. It your rebuilding your 12 bolts use a pro gear, it can take the his better. As for hooking it, you better not be on a 26in tire lol.

If you use your car on the street you may want to sell your rear or fix and sell your rear.A pro gear in the 12 bolt will hold but then you can't drive in the street cause it's for track only and they won't last long on the street.

I have a Harlen 2 step (they don't make them anymore for now) whichs works with my timing tunner. The timing tunner is activated when you go WOT and trigger the micro switch. When I'm on the 2 step I hold the pedel down as far as it takes to be on the limiter so I'm not mashed to the floor trigerring the timing tunner. But my 2 step has a activation wire that is not live untill the 2 step is shut off. So I could hold it to the floor if I wanted to but sometimes all these different things hooked up scares me that 1 will fail so I try to do it as safe as possible. The timing tunner controls the delay and pulls timing for my set up . I could live with out the 2 step but I depend on that timing tunner.
