Damn thats sucks for her to go through that scare.

Maybe it's just a blown headgasket if your not seeing any holes? Was there some banging going on as well? Did it sound like it came apart?

Yeah, there was some bangin' and other ugly noises. It might have sucked a valve and lifted the head. I just can't tell where all the oil came from. It's somewhere on the drivers side but I couldn't see any holes in the block.

Sorry to see this happen Mike. Unfortunately it is apart of what we do for a hobby. No problem with the ride home.

I did a quick preview of the block, and it does not appear to have any gaping holes. The entire bottom and back end of the car got a nice oil bath though. Thanks to Cody for the enclosed trailer ride home.

Dam sorry to hear about the black beast Mike. I would have had the same reaction "oh shit". Good luck let us know what happened.

Thanks everyone. Like Cody said, it's all part of the hobby. How's that old saying go, "if you're not breaking shit, you're not driving it hard enough" lol.... or,,, "don't lift until you piss yourself, smell shit or puke" lol.....

I pulled a valvecover and spark plugs from the side that dumped the oil. All the plugs looked good, and no broken valvesprings. From what I can tell, the oil was dumping from somewhere around the DS motor mount. Without pulling the engine I can't tell if there is a crack back there, or it was coming from the head gasket.

We have plans for most of tomorrow so I won't be able to dig any deeper until Monday, and the wait is killing me!

Mike

I found the culprit of the lost oil yesterday,,,, spit a rod through the block just under the motor mount. I should have the engine out of the car today so I can inspect the damage inside the block.

Back in the day, my friend used to always tell me, "you're not a real car guy until you've sent a rod through the block" lol.... I guess I'm finally a real car guy now LMAO......

Yup, that sucks, sorry to see that.

Our old 351c shot a rod through the oil pan, so I know the feeling. That's when we bought a forged stroker assembly and had our hard filled block fixed up, excellent persuasion this stuff is
