I found the culprit of the lost oil yesterday,,,, spit a rod through the block just under the motor mount. I should have the engine out of the car today so I can inspect the damage inside the block.
Back in the day, my friend used to always tell me, "you're not a real car guy until you've sent a rod through the block" lol.... I guess I'm finally a real car guy now LMAO......

Thanks man, but it's all part of the game. Shit happens and the only I can do is just move forward. The most ironic part of all this is that I was just talking to Brenda a couple weeks previous about replacing those rods with some H-beams this winter.
Phill, as for the plans of a new engine, I'm not real sure for the time being. Part of me wants to fix this block and build a 427, but then I'd always be thinking something else would happen to the block again. I've considered an iron block forged 408, but I've also thought about going super budget and doing a forged 370 built for nitrous or turbo. I have all winter to think about the possibilities so for the time being, I'm going to concentrate on taking weight out of the car, and proabably do some mini-tubs this winter. I'd like to run a much larger rear wheel/tire for the next track outing.
