Default Removing pin stripe . . . .

My 1991 Cadillac has a gold pin stripe that is starting to come off in some places, so I'm just going to take the whole thing off. It is orginal paint on a 108k mile car. Its navy blue, almost black, and if you look at it wrong it will scratch/swirl on you.

The car still looks nice, but if I take this off, will there be a ghost line of where the stripe used to be? What would be the best way to get it off?

You should already be aware that I, a self-proclaimed connoisseur and provider of female services, would gladly listen to my music at high volume whilst driving this fine automobile. It saddens me that this vehicle does not have a spare tire equipped on the rear bonnet. The artificial wood grain makes for poor tactile grip (which may cause me to veer into another lane, but I digress; ) it is appealing to the eye.
My apologies.

if its a vinyl stripe, you can use a heat gun and it should peel right off...your gunna have to buff the area to get the clear to look right again. even if the paint is faded, it will be less noticeable than the damaged stripe.

if its painted on you can go to a local supply shop and get 2500 grit sand paper and a hard block and go level with the surface and sand with the surface being wet.... then buff

Its a vinyl decal type of stripe. The paint might be faded ever so slightly, since this car is 16 years old and its not a 10,000 mile garage queen.
