Default what year model TAs came w/ fiberglass front fenders

what year model TAs came w/ fiberglass front fenders on the LS1 TAs?

or are they only available as a non GM replacement panel?

I'm thinking paint on fiberglass is better than plastic since it's harder plus it's more durable. maybe a tad heavier and more costly?

any thoughts

None came with fiberglass fenders. They are all plastic.

polyurethane fenders, right? wouldn't they look about the same as the paint on the doors? cause aren't the doors a fiberglass composite material?

it doesnt matter if its plastic or fiberglass the paint will be the same
and the doors are SMC, the fenders are polyurathene, plastic that is yellow is polyurathene, plastic that is black in color is TPO/TPE/TEO/PP/ABS

sorry can't understand abbreveations.

I allways thought that paint on metal fenders looked better thats why top body men never use bondo on metal they use more metal.

I allways thought that paint on rubber bumpers looks crumie (differnt from metal or fiberglass).

I've heard (not here yet) that not all TAs had plastic fenders.

above being said paint will look better on a harder surface right?

?which year models had fiberglass fenders?

bdyman is right.

ive been painting for about 13yrs now and ive never seen anyone try to fix a dent with more metal always bondo, maybe 20+ yrs ago they used lead but rarely any more.

as far as paint on rubber bumpers goes it all depends on what paint you use, and a quick wet sand and buff will fix most of it.

ive worked at a chevy dealer for 13yrs and have never seen a fiber-glass fender on a TA or camaro.

and as far as paint looking better on metal that plastic, i would agree that it looks a little better on metal but with enough prep on plastic or fiber glass panels it can look just as good.

i think you watch to much tv,lol even the best out there use bondo, when i was at chip fooses shop there was a car out there with bondo work on it, todays bondo is water proof, corrosion resistant, doesnt shrink, doesnt bubble

and there not abbreviations that the type of plastic that is out there, types of plastic, TPO/TPE/TEO/ABS/PP/ polyurathene

and the dude above is right, as far as i know the f-bdoies always came with polyurathene fenders

Default Can you use bondo on a polyurethane bumper

I sanded down a couple spots in my polyurethane bumpers a few months ago. I didn't paint them right away (big mistake) and the sun has eaten/shrunk the polyurethane that was showing. Now that I primed them you can see a 1/16 inch deep indent where the spot was sanded. I tried polyurethane repair glue on one of the spots and it just made a mess. Can I use bondo to fair these with?
