Default can the fenders be bolted to the bumper then mounted

on a 99 TA can the fenders be bolted to the bumper then mounted?

I have the gap on both sides of top of fenders can't seam to retighten to reduce the gap.

I'm planning to add rivots in the cheesie GM metal braket and maybe even add
a stronger metal plate on the other side of the GM metal piece then maybe I can tighten down to seal the gap just don't have any room while parts are mounted.

if I'm able to put together off the car ?can the fenders be bolted to the bumper then mounted?

Thanks for any tips to reduce the gap.

I used plastic bumper repair, a two part syringe epoxy that I found at autozone. dries quick and stays flexible. I got into a fender bender last week and the repaired rip held nicely.

Default glue

thanks for the tip on glue. i was planning on trying gorilla glue.

something I just thought of is the 2 plastic pins that hold the bumper cover on the top inbetween the head lights got lost so I used bolts to fasen bumper

now I'm thinking if I slide the bumper back a little (reducing the gap inbetween the bumper and the hood that would also reduce the gap on the fenders and the bumper right?

this is not my car the arrows point to the gap inbetween the hood and bumper.

Thanks

not sure if you can but if you remove the headlight you can get right to it. Same thing on mine. One of these days i will fix it.

Default fender

I am planning a fender swap next week so I'll be removing the bumper to install fender.

while bumper is of I want to glue the little tears on the fender mount flange
both sides have the tear I don't know exactly what caused these tears but have been told it's caused by the weight of the bumper createing stress.

also I did'nt have a image of the top front of my car so I used the white car to show the gap in the bumper & hood look at the driver fender sticking up I had this same thing fixed it easily adjusting the fender flange.

if I remove the head lights would it be a good idea to drill alinement holes to make sure it go'es back on the same and minimize adjustment time? or doe's the head light assy. only go on one way and never requires adjustment?

I'm thinking the only adjustment is on the lid?

Thanks

just use a crayon or something to mark the outline. No sense in putting extra holes in the car. When i do mine i will be putting a piece of thin metal with a nut and bolt to hold it tight.
