Default Hellfire Kandy Camaro

Finally got the car into the booth to be sprayed. Been about 8 months for this project to finally come about to where it is now, earlier pics and work is in this thread:
My camaro makeover thread

13 coats of paint went on in about 5 hours last night, 1 coat of sealer, 6 coats of base, 4 coats of kandy and 2 coats of clear. The car is gonna sit and cure for a few days then we will sand down some of the clear so the airbrush guy can come in and do his thing.

After the final coat of base, with the body nice and laser straight

First kandy coat

third kandy coat

First clear coat

Second clear coat

first kandy coat

walking the car

laying some clear

will have sunlight pics in the next few days

probably 8-9K walk in, thats what the receipt is going to show for insurance purposes at least. I paid around $1,500 to $1,700 for sealer, base, kandy, and clear plus a few odds and ends for this job and that was at shop cost, not retail.

Very nice! I've got a copper basecoat for my Kandy but it looks more like gold than copper.

i want to airbrush some very subtle dark ghost flames, have the classic camaro emblems airbrushed on the fenders, beyond that I am not sure right now, I am going to sit down with the artist and see what ideas he has.

Looks amazing but one question, why did you leave the side molding on and paint over it? Seems like since the car is so straight and they really do nothing to protect from door dings/nicks it is just pointless.
I mean anytime I got dings on the quarters it is always right above the molding and a few nicks on the doors are once again above the moldings.

Either way man good job on the car.

7-9 grand seems a little extreme for one kandy with an off-base... my paint would cost about that much at the time it was done. probably closer to six now.
