Dont paint your chrome wheels... Just find a cheap set of silver stockers or better yet find some black painted stockers.

Mine used to be black stockers but they got old and most people would agree that painting your stockers isnt cool.

I'm sure somebody would gladly trade you for your chrome wheels.

They don't. He said to buy some silver ones and paint them black or find some that have already been painted black.
There have been tons of people that have painted stock rims black, do a search.

I hate to disagree, but they do make stock black wheels.. have you ever seen a 35th anv. Trans Am....Black stockers....Only thing is they're hard to find and expensive to buy...

You need to prep them.. I have never done it to chrome rims (I would trade someone for silver and ask for a little cash). Do a search and check the FS WTB threads.

There is a thread for photoshop requests in the Multimedia forum or the like..

Search man, not just for individual things, but look around to see if there is a place on this forums that deals with that. Just as we have a place that deal with 4l60e/t56/FI/stock internal/drag racing results/kill stories/regional specific/for sale/etc etc etc..

Black Rims w/o any Chrome Lip looks fuckin Ghetto, reminds me of people who take off their good rims for the Winter Season and the Steelies go back on.

To the OP not to bash or anything but in my personal opinion black rims don't look that great on a NBM car, maybe with a chrome ring around it, but still I'm not a fan, just personal preference really. Check out the stickies of the Wheels forums, they have a crap ton of information about what looks best with what with pics. Just right now the wheel gallery is apparently down.

And to 98Z2885, how much was it to have them powdercoated? I have a NBM Z28 and was thinking about powdercoating them NBM when I get them.

To have just the wheels done, it was 160.00. I did the lugs and caps as well. That ran me another 20.00. So 180.00 out the door. If you were closer I would recommend a place. LMK if you have any questions. I did have to do some grinding on the back of the lugs and holes to make the lugs go in. As well as the hole where the center cap went through. I guess the powder coat made them swell.

I wouldnt mess w/ chome wheels. I did my non chrome C5 wheels..Sand w/ light sand paper to get gloss off....clean wheel w/ simple green or something, primer, paint, then clearcoat if you want. You can pick up those 16 in. wheels cheap enough, just look for a non chrome set.

Id have to disagree, nmb looks great w/ a glossy black finish...

Sorry, let me rephrase, I like the glossy black chrome look with chrome studs or a chrome ring, just not flat black. A lot of the wannabe street racer ricer kids around here do it and it makes me want to hit em with a bat.

yeah i plan on finding some rims on craiglist or maybe a junk yard lol

but can you powercoat chrome? and how much better is power coat compared to paint and clear?

and i also disagree i think it nbm looks good with black rims with or without shinny lips
