Default New CNC TEA Stage II LS1 heads (2.02"/1.57")

Category: Audio/Video/Electronics
Price: $950
Location (State): AL
Item Condition: Used

For sale,

A new set of Total Engine Airflow (TEA) Stage II heads. These CNC heads have zero miles on them. The stage II program was cut on a set of 241 GM castings. Heads were opened up for 2.02 and 1.57" valves. This is the biggest you can go on a stock set without custom valves or changing the valve seats.

TEA says they flow 317 CFM at .600" lift and 255 CFM at .600" (exhaust). I bought these to go on a mean street setup (232/234 cam on a stock sized motor), but now I want to sell them. They are decked for 62 cc chambers and were cut approximately .030" off the deck.

These heads were $1800 new (with no core to ship to TEA). I'm asking $1250 shipped to your door. You will need to supply your own valvesprings. They do come with valves.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with these heads. I'm selling them to generate some funds to pay for dozer work behind my house. Looks like some of my priorities are changing.

http://www.totalengineairflow.com/pr.../gmhead/gmls1/

The above is a link to TEA where you can read about these heads. These are not the cheapest CNC heads out there, but I honestly believe this is one of the better CNC programs out there. This and the great track record that TEA has is the reason I bought from TEA. I'd rather pay a little more and get a great head than save $200 and regret it for two years.

I finally got some pictures up!

If you do not have a nice valve spring compress or don't want to install springs, I'll lube the valve stem with grease, install valve stem seals and instally BUYER supplied valve springs for no additional charge.

If you want these heads finished with a cartridge roll like they would be if you bought them from a race shop, I can also do that. I worked at a shop and spent many a nights cartridge rolling (sanding smooth) brand new heads. Can't do it for free though.

Thanks a ton for looking at my thread. PLEASE SEE THE HANDWRITTEN NOTE IN THE PICTURES ABOVE TO SHOW AUTHENTICITY.

These heads are in the box that TEA mailed them to me in with a blank "ship to" label. Let me put your name on that label!!

I could lie to you, but I'm not really sure. They're not huge I do know that. I remember when I bought them that they had great velocity (good flow numbers through a small-ish runner).

I know they are way WAY smaller than some PRC LS6s that went on my buddy's car. Thanks for your time.

No, but all of that is included in a new spring kit. I think the seals aren't, but I can buy a set of those and add 'em to the heads if it helps you out. The seals might actually be included now the more I think about it.

Do you have any springs now or are you looking to order a set of them?

Heres a bump for you. So the heads are 62cc or milled .030 from 62cc? This is very tempting. also, I thought stage II ls6 heads from tea are 243 or 799 castings Im just making sure its not a typo.

Thanks

The casting number is not a typo. These are 241 castings.

They are milled right around .030" to get down to a 62cc chamber with the stainless steel valves. Remember guys that the shape of your valves (if more or less tulip shaped on the exhaust for example) will have an affect on how much material needs to be removed from the deck to get down to 62cc.

Paul thank you so much for the free bump. Please ask any other questions you may have.

Thanks,

Ben

The flow is pretty close to the same (ported vs ported), but honestly there are some differences in the LS1 heads (these 241s for instance) vs. the LS6, 243. The 243 has GM's newer designed "fast burn" chamber and the runner is shapped different from the factory. Before any port work the 243 runner is wider and it's also taller. The 243 does have a rather nice short side radius, but one both heads are ported the ls6 head begins to lose a lot of it's advantages. The 243 head should theoretically make a little better power, but in most cases there's not a big difference in practice.

You may see an extra 5 ft-lbs or so with a "stage 2" ls6 over a "stage 2" ls1, but I personally think if you can get the LS1 heads cheap- get them.

There will be a big difference is a big valved fully CNC ported LS1 head over the stock valved LS6 head.

Thanks for asking Paul and I really appreciate the free bump.

Ben T.
