95 LT1 Firebird, Data retrieval?

My car has an OBDII style port yet is OBDI(1995) I have a Handheld OBDII scantool from blue point, part # YA3160. Was wondering if I could download software to that scantool to retrieve data from the DLC on my car. If not, what do I need to retrieve that data? Thanks!

What kind of data are you trying to get?. Are you just trying to scan the car if so I would recomend Datamaster(www.ttspowersystems.com)
