Default Why would someone do this? 25th TA to a 27th?

This makes no sense to me. The owner of this 1994 25th Anniversary Edition Trans Am decided to have center cap decals made that said "27th" edition Trans Am rather than 25th.

Large picture, so I'm linking it instead:
http://www.z28.com/events/G12/Saturday/DSC_0034.JPG

I don't get why they think it's a 27th edition? The Firebird was released in 1967, and the Trans Am model was released in 1969. 1994-1969=25... What do they think Pontiac didn't know how to do math? Technically, yes, the Firebird model was 27 years old that year.. but not the Trans Am. I'm just confused, am I missing something?

In that logic.. When I was born I immediately turned 1 year old, and instead of being 21, I'm 22. You can't count the year it was introduced, because it isn't a year old.

But there was a model that existed in 1967. By going by the anniversary, the manufacturer is basically saying that a car didn't the first year of its production. I think they should go by model years rather than age.

I was just joking around anyway I was trying to be as weird as the guy that made up his only anniversary edition. I saw one a few years ago at the Trans Am Nationals that the owner actually had 27th Anniversary Decals made for the doors that mimicked the '94 door decals.

Dont make things tougher than they are.

I know the car and owner....it is a 96, not a 94....thats why it has 27th on the center caps. They have adopted a 25th Aniv style to it (with some very unique differences.) So its "#1 of 1" 27th Aniv edition.

The car is done well enough if you didnt know the difference you would think it was a factory 25th Aniv car. But if you notice the stripes on it they checker boarded like the 35th LE Camaro SS. Its a very well done car.

Here is a picture of it from the show this past weekend...I just noticed she (yeah, it belongs to a girl...her husband has a very nice IROC with a LT1 in it) took those center caps off. I guess she got tired of having to explain what the "27th" meant.

Its a really nice car:

Was it an original 25th car?
Maybe it was a '96 clone of a 25th?
