Got the dreaded headlight growl this morning, Was going to order the brass gear but before I did I checked with Advance and they sell just the nylon gear for 12$ and complete motor for 70$.. wound up just un hooking the linkage and rolled the motor over 180degrees and all is well now.

Another question is the bump stop for the headlight, mines bent and the headlight closes too far, is this a part that can be replaced?

NAAA guys, the credit goes to acslam who started this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-f...-housings.html That's where I first read about them.

My HID kits, 100 watts Hella high beam bulbs and ceramic high beam sockets are on the way. If delivered, I'll have everything installed by this weekend and post up new pics.

Anybody want to give me a link to a good price relay harness? I'm having a problem getting my driverside low to come on... I have to turn lights off/on 3-4 times to get it to come on.

Painless has some harnesses but they're pretty costly. Matrix has some, pretty in-expensive. I'd always make my own, I love fabing stuff. http://www.summitracing.com/search/?...&Ns=Price|Desc

I didn't want to read through this whole thread....my bro is looking at a 96 bird. The headlights apparently don't flip up or anything....would this just be a matter of replacing the motor? I tried a search, but I couldn't find what I wanted.

Apparently there's no noise or anything....wanted to see if the motor was a cheap fix, or if there's something more involved (wiring problems, etc.)

My headlights keep going up and down whenever I turn the switch to raise and lower them. I've figured out that it is the bumpstops not stopping them.

The issue with the bumpstops is that they just aren't there. Anyone know how to replace these? From what I can tell, they are part of the original cast, aka, not something I can just bolt back on. btw this is on a 93 t/a

OK guys, after having the Eurolights housings for a few months, I decided, even with the 100 watt lamps I put in them, they just plain suck. I’m sorry I wasted money and time on them. While the boxes they came in were marked 4703 and 4701, they are clearly the same housing. The H7 lamps are shaded tip only meaning there’s no true hi beam. Even the furnished adapter wires sucked. These fixtures provided just a blob of light with no cutoff point whatsoever. Pass on these, they’re garbage.

I went to LMC Truck Parts and got their 36-0302 and 36-0303 Euro style headlights. These arrived with 9005 and 9006 lamps. These things are beautiful. Each one even has cast in the backside "high beam" or "low beam". After installation, the light was great. Sharp, defined cutoff lines, great white light, just what I wanted. And this is with the 60 watt lamps they came with. Jeeze, even the bulb pigtails matched the car's color coding.

A note about LMC: The person taking my order got a few things wrong and I had to repeat everything two or three times to her. Despite reading back to me the correct address, it went to the wrong address. When asked what kind of truck I had, I replied "1999 Pontiac Trans Am". She thought it was a Honda model!! Then she told me it wouldn’t fit. Wade through this and go get your true high performance lights fellers. Definitely worth the money.

Would the kit include the mounting bezels, or do you use the stock ones to retain the new lights?
