Definitely a good choice for the WS9 badge since you do have the "WS9" hood.
That is initially how the WS7 badges started. Suncoast Creations was one of the first companies to manufacture an aftermarket WS6-style hood. With their own hood design they also introduced the WS7 badge (which at the time was just a chrome decal with the clear overlay on it to give it some depth.) and sold it as a companion piece to the hood. I know this because I bought a hood from them for my 99 and got a WS7 badge.

Since then many better WS7 badges have been made. A little historic info: the WS7 option code (which stands for 4-wheel disc brakes) is no longer used by Pontiac and hasn't since the late 70's.
The badging a non-ws6 car as a WS6 has been a touchy subject since as long as I remember. Most often than not a fake WS6 will be called out and belittled. But WS7 and WS9 cars that are badged accordingly are just fine in my book and I totally understand the need for the badge on the back...I was one of the first to do it, haha.

u can't make ur car into a Trans Am no matter what. It may look like one in everyway, such as if you got a different front bumper, hood spoiler, wheels, etc but its really a trans am replica. also, go with ws7 or ws9, cuz you can't actually turn it into a ws6...
