I did a little research and that purple color was actually a red with a 50/50 mixture of cow urine and cow blood added. Then they mixed in some monkey shit to give it that special gleam. They originaly called it Bovine red but later changed the name to H-Purple.

Wow.... this is an old thread! I'd just bought my Formula when this got posted, now I have the Formula and one of those 12 WS6s, and the purple GTO too.

Without knowing what kind of shape the car is in, mileage, etc.. I can't really give you a fairly accurate guess on what it's worth.

I haven't really seen detailed pics of the car, but it looks clean from what I saw. Like I said, price is probably a little steep, but a good starting point for negotiating... the color really doesn't increase the value in the current market.

I bought my WS6 in October for $12K... a convertible is in the same price range.

purple cars are the shit for sure, mine is not so bright but the same idea at least. they made 381 like my car including verts mine is prolly around like one of a hundred or so since i keep seeing verts on ebay in my color. i also had the line up on a 98 camaro in that color was a z28 w/80k auto w/tan interior,that woulda been one hell ofa car if i woulda bought it.

I got more pics and can is in pretty good shape for the year, does have one bad deep scratch on drive's side rear quarter and scratches there the gas cap...I just found another for 10k also a vert A car...

I just saw a Bright Purple Formula on the road about a week ago...LOVE the color, but the car wasn't taken care of at all

It was still really cool to see one on the road though.
