Ok, cool. I was thinking you meant the later model wheels...with a production date and # that low that would have really thrown me off!
PERSONALY I like the older style wheels better. I have a set of each in the shop. I think the speedlines are just more popular because they were newer and were not made very long.
I'll bet it exists somewhere in some type of internal bulletin.
My 2001 was built is August '00 (ASC built #406) and it has 'em.
I have a friend with an '01 with an August '00 build date, and his 'bird has the '02 wheels. So I'm guessing it was sometime in August of 2000 when the switch was made.
Firebird Production Number, Color Breakouts, Options, Etc.....POST QUESTIONS HERE!
It seems that many of us would like more info on production information concerning our 'birds. With all the threads that get started requesting information, it would be much better to contain them all into one thread. Going forward, please post all your questions regarding production information in this thread. Also, if you can't find your thread look in here! I just might have moved it in here.
Please refrain from bickering, etc., if differing information is posted. We all know that the record-keeping wasn't the greatest. I personally have found differing information amongst different authors that have written Firebird books.
This is all I've found on the '99s....... (although there is more detail on the 30ths than is here):

Hey guys Im new here but not new to the F-Body Scene. Im on my 4th F-body now.
In 1996 they made 524 Formula WS6 cars wich is what i drive now. I really dont know a for sure breakdown other than that. But Mine is a Red 6 spd, dark cloth interior, hardtop, you know the low option "racer package" From what I can find, there was only about 50 in this exact package but no real proof of that number. Mine is mint with 27,500 miles on it.

Of the 524 '96 WS6 Formulas built, 359 were M6, of those, 105 were Bright Red. I have no further breakdown than that.
