Could someone help me find out whether or not my T/A is a true WS6? the clear coat is coming off of my hood and I suspect the hood was either added or damaged, I wanna be sure. What would be needed? Thanks guys

Check the RPO code, I did the same thing...you never know, someone could throw a hood on, some rims, and a badge and call it a WS6.
If you open the driver side door and look there is a little white sticker, it has all these three letter/number combos, its in alphabetical order, so just find the W's and see if WS6 is there, if so, its a true WS6, if not...well...you don't need me to tell you
i am in need of help. i am trying very hard to find detailed build number's for a 1995 formula like the one below but for 95 model http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/attach...2&d=1213884855

How many had all 3 is anyone's guess. If you had a color other than Red or Black, I could tell you how many WS6 were that color, but that is the extent of the breakdown available.

The numbers I have for '95s are real sketchy (have numbers for only a few of the colors, and not black). All I can tell you is that there were 7448 '95 Formulas built, 4889 w/ A4 (1662 of those w/ 3.23 rear), 2559 w/ M6. 4342 had T-tops, 35 had chrome wheels, 3210 had Cass/EQ, 2804 had CD/EQ.

that's about all i could find as well. i read an article that say's that only a few had the 310 h.p. engine with the performance pack[suspenssion and axle stuff] if you look at this link you will see what i am talking about.just scroll to section on the 1995 model http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Firebird but i cant find out how many "a few" means. thanks for the help.maybe i can find out something.I even have my local dealer's stumped.

Not sure if I'd trust Wikipedia:
Quote:
1995 models were the same as those of previous years, but traction control (ASR: Acceleration Slip Regulation) was now available. The steering wheel was also changed. It was borrowed from the Grand Prix.A performance package was also offered. The package offered Polyurethane Bushings, suspension upgrades,as well as a freer intake/exhaust similar to that on the Chevrolet Corvette, supplying 310 hp to very few of the Firebird models; those that did receive this set-up were able to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds and cover a quarter-mile in 13.2 seconds at 110 mph (180 km/h). The 'Perform Transmission' button, which was available in the 310 hp Trans Ams, gave a 25% increase in torque with every kickdown, and resulted in a maximum of 350 ft·lbf (470 N·m) of torque.
I have the feeling that this is referring to the Firehawks that year.
Do you have documentation on your car (like a window sticker) that states it's 310HP rating?
WS7 FORMULA M6 ~~~MTI Lid, Cold Air Dam, Ram Air HO, Short shifter and stick, Cut-out, Coolant Bypass, Manual Fan controller, Fidanza flywheel, SPEC stage 2clutch, 175 pound weight reduction~~~
Future Mods: more weight reductions, LSX intakes, Drop Kit
Total '98 Formula coupes: 2123
- 651 w/ M6
- 1472 w/ A4 (530 of those w/ 3.23 gear)
- 221 were WS6s (14 of those were 1LE)
- 1902 were non-WS6
- 1567 had T-tops
- 270 were White
Of the 524 '96 WS6 Formulas built, 359 were M6, of those, 105 were Bright Red. I have no further breakdown than that.
Thank you very much 4 the info!!!!!!!!
