If anyone would still have the VIN-to-Build # decoder ring on the '96 WS6s, it would be SLP.
Just to clarify a bit, pre-96 to 93, there weren't any WS6 cars. 92 was the last year till 96 when it showed back up.

Then again with GMs pathetic record keeping it might not.

On the other hand they very well may have just used up all the old style wheels and then started using the new ones mid run.
Since the records are poor, we should be able to narrow down the break between the early and late WS6 wheels by the ASC build date.

My ASC conversion #5015 build date is Jan 29th, 2001. It has the late (2002) style wheels (RPO# QB6).

The latest old style and the earliest new style will intersect at some date.

I know how many were made and the combos. I'm just wondering who can get the build number for a certain car.

I've got some sketchy info on the '95s, what's "NB6"? And which model you need (Formula or TA)?

SLP for the Hawks, SSs and LT1 WS6s, ASC for the LS1 WS6s. I do have some ASC#s for '98 WS6s as long as it's not red or black.

NB6 is the California emissions RPO code I believe.95 LT1 A4 cars that were due to be first sold in California received the 2 catalytic converter system that didn't come on all cars until 1996+.I have one of the dual-cat 95 cars that came with 3.23 GU5 gears, was just wondering how many 95 A4 F-body's were made like this.My car is a Formula (in sig)

They didn't make a WS6 until 1996, but thanks though. I'm gonna try and get up with the Pontiac Historical Society and see if they can send me the package

Smile 2001 Formula

Can you give a break down of the 2001 Formulas like you did for the 2002? I am trying to get numbers like how many 6sp vs auto, and how many of each color, etc. Thanks

Yeah, if your talking about what I referred to as the "outwardly-badged" WS6 cars, that is true. However, WS6 was an RPO for a suspension and/or brake upgrade from ~'78 until '92 (but never "badged" as such), and was apparently dropped from '93-'95. When talking about WS6s, I try to be careful to not exclude those earlier cars as sometimes owners get sensitive about it.

Any breakdown on 1996 Trans Am colors? I've been told the quasar blue on my TA is kind of a rare color.

1996 ta, lt1, t56, t-tops, grey cloth.
